Just curious what teams you think had better drafts that us over the last 3 drafts. (not counting this one obviously)

Lets look at our best players we've drafted. D-line, WR, and QB.

Bengals:
Dandy Andy Dalton
AJ
Dunlap
Atkins

Lions:
Stafford
Megatron
Suh
Fairley

Who would you say has drafted better? And if you say the Bengals, GTFO.

Thats a way to only look at a cherry picked few players. Plus Calvin Johnson is from the 2007 draft which is 2 years before I started talking about. Keep within the parameters of the argument please.

Why are you only considering our last 3 drafts? Marvin has been with the organization longer than that. Why are you taking out the drafts from Marvin where we literally have ZERO contributors on the roster??

My point is that without even giving much thought, I can think of a team that has drafted considerably better than us and rebuilt a franchise.

And in that regard I'd give a slight edge to the lions but barely. Fairly and Dunlap are even though Dunlap is better when he plays. Atkins and Suh are even, I might even give a slight edge to Atkins. CJ isn't much better than AJ. Look at the numbers this year. Stafford is better than Dalton which is the only real edge I give them. If he can stay healthy that is, though he hasn't been that great this year.

Because its comin knowledge Marv didn't get any real control until about 3 years ago. If you had paid any real attention to this team you'd know that. So take Johnson off that list and add on whoever their next best draft pick was and I'll probably take the Bengals drafts.

Same shit from our "fans." Different year. Don't go to the games. Do not support this crap financially in any way what-so-ever. Please don't. Stand up for yourselves, please. Have some dignity. This is not acceptable.

Look at the stats please. PLEASE. In what way is Suh better than Atkins? Fairly better than Dunlap?

The defensive line is the only thing on this team that's worth a shit. It's certainly not open to criticism or complaint.

Suh has 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Atkins has 20 tackles and 6 sacks. Last year Suh had 4 sacks to Atkins 7.5. Atkins was also 2nd team All Pro last year. Suh wasn't on the team. In fact Suh wasn't even a pro bowler.

We both know there are plenty of times a defensive line can effect a game that's not caught on a stat line. I think it's considerably harder to run up the middle on the Lions than the Bengals. Suh has a higher sack/game average, and Dunlap is fine when he actually plays. I agree wholeheartedly that Atkins and Dunlap are by FAR our best defensive players, but if I was offered Fairley and Suh straight up for them, I'd take it.

I think you guys are arguing about bullshit. We're all frustrated. Argue about the shit that matters...

QB, RB, WR, coaching...basically the offense. The offense is what matters....and ours is shit.

04, 05, 06, 07, 08 drafts and the only actual contributors we have (maybe) Leon Hall, and Peko. That is inexcusable.

The Bengals are giving up 15 more yards per game and .2 more ypc.

Also Fairley has a whopping 18 tackles and 3 sacks in his career. Dominant.

And as I said, if you knew anything about the Bengals you'd know that Marv didn't take over personnel stuff until 08ish. I agree before then our drafting wasn't good.

How do you know when Marvin had control, if he had control, and what has changed? You have your own ideas about how the organization has been handled, but you have as much of a clue as the rest of us - None at all.

The offense is old and outdated. It's just not feasible in today's NFL. Look at what RG3 and what's his name for Seattle did today....

In fact, the only time you could even speculate that something would have 'changed' would have been after the 2010 season - That's when he renegotiated his contract. Though aside from a change in training staff and the addition of a scout or two, I don't remember anything else changing.

That's not when he renegotiated the first time. That is also when other concessions were made to Marv. We had a huge thread on it at the time. I can't help if you can't remember.
