I guarantee you if in the last 3 drafts you could tell a GM he could have 4 perennial pro bowl
Players, a couple other players who may make a pro bowl or 2 in Dalton, Gresham, Johnson. And then some plug in guys like Binns, Sims, Boling. And then some project players like Moch, that ANY GM would take that. And that isn't counting how good Zeitler, Burfict, Charles and Jones are looking this year. Also people discount how good Shipley looked before he got hurt. You can't blame that on Marv.

The same way the Titans beat the Steelers. Same way the Colts beat the Packers. You act like the bigger name team always wins.

Who are those 4 perennial pro bowlers?

None of Dalton, Gresham, or Johnson are "pro bowlers". Dalton is an average to below average QB. Gresham has potential, but we have yet to see it come to fruit. Johnson isn't even a 3 down end.

Burfict was an undrafted FA.

How are you saying Bins is 'a plug in guy'??? Where has he proven he can be an NFL receiver? He is on our team because we literally have NO ONE else. He's a career practice player or a guy struggling to make rosters on any other team.

We all know Gresham's 'Pro Bowl' season was bc of injuries and he is a mid grade TE at best, and Dalton is a run of the mill qb. Moch hasn't even played in a game yet, so you cant exactly say that's a good pick yet at all.

We've had a ton of high draft picks under Marvins tenure. Blind squirrels find nuts. I wouldn't say he's doing a bad job, but it's nothing to write home about, or keep him in the franchise for that matter.

Great game. Inspiring offense. Throw a 7 yard curl at the sideline to receivers that can't gain separation - Sooner or later it will work. Remember when all those announcers were crediting Jay Gruden with a unique passing system?

The team was totally unprepared to play in the third quarter - They actually looked a lot like the 2010 version.

Ok I never said we were. He asked why I thought we could beat the steelers or the Broncos. It happens every week a bad team beats a good team.

I'm still a fan of the system. We're a solid #2 from opening things up much more for a better offense. Then we're an above average QB away from having a great offense.

I misread what you wrote, but I think his point is that this team is far far away from consistently being in games with those teams, let alone actually consistently beating those teams.

Uhhhh.....

So this is why we should keep our coach around? Or keep him in the organization?

You also said earlier this year that the Broncos didnt impress you and we would beat them. Has your opinion changed yet?

Oh I agree we won't consistently beat any of those teams. Never said we would. He said we wouldn't win another game all year and I just don't buy that. We will luck into a win against someone, probably 3ish wins and finish with 6 wins and not get the player we want in the draft.

Not sure what you are even talking about or inferring that from. Maybe you need to reread the thread and figure out which of my conversations you are trying to jump into because you are combining 2 separate conversations.

Our drafts are vastly overrated by our fans.

Just curious what teams you think had better drafts that us over the last 3 drafts. (not counting this one obviously)

That's a ridiculous question. You cannot assess another team's draft that you don't watch as closely as the Bengals. Hell, most fans of other teams still don't know who Geno Atkins is. They sure as hell don't know who Michael Johnson is. Gresham? Maybe.

What you don't get is that out of 3 drafts we have gotten 4 perennial pro bowl players. I doubt many teams could say that. Then we got Dalton and Gresham. We got Boling, we got Shipley who was looking like a really good pickup before he got hurt, you can't blame that on Marv, we got Johnson, Sims, and we got Huber. So in 3 drafts we drafted our starting QB, WR #1, TE #1, RT, RG, both DE's, starting DT, run stuffing DT, starting P. Out of those players the only ones I don't think start on a bunch of teams is Boling and Sims.

Atkins and Green are the only guys I would call perennial Pro Bowl players we have on our entire team.

We have to seriously consider drafting another QB or signing one in FA to replace Dalton. He's horrible.

This will never happen, obviously.

Glad we used a 1st round pick on a shutdown CB too. How's he lookin?
