Why though? Teams all around the league are finding guys that are above that....why should our expectations be any different?

I don't understand the mentality, from both fans and the team itself, of being content with having a less smelly turd.

Well, I would say...

A) We don't have a 1st round pick and legitimately "good" QB's don't tend to make their way into the open market. Unless their is a catch... like they're Rivers/Brady's age and have a ton of question marks around them for different reasons.

B) I think most realize that we went 12-4 with pedestrian QB play in 2018. Going 8-8 with horrible QB play in 2019. I think most see that "If we're just decent at the position. We're probably in the mix in the NFC."

It's like... we all WANT to date super models, yeah? But there's a finite amount and most guys don't have access to that.

Carr, Dalton, old man Brady, old man Rivers, AJ McCarron, 2nd round project draft pick... and Mitchell Trubisky. These are our choices. Take the best one and hope it's a good fit. Again, we don't need elite QB play to be competitive.

I'd be on board with getting aggressive and trading for Carr.

Haven’t won a SB in over 30 years.

The team President in charge of everything is a an accounting guy.

Raised ticket prices despite the team not being very good last season.

2 playoff appearances in the past 10 years. Haven’t had back to back playoff appearances in nearly 15 seasons.

Common sense tells me this is a franchise that is okay with not winning so long as the it gives the appearance to its fan base that they are trying. Fans still show up and buy lots of merch and that’s all that matters.

Why are you misrepresenting what I said? I clearly said that these options COULD upgrade the QB position. "Decent" is an upgrade from last year. I believe Carr, Dalton and a couple others improve our QB play from 2019.

We just went 8-8. All anyone can ask is to put themselves into the mix for the Lombardi. Especially teams who failed to even make the post-season in the year prior. That is it. Year in and year out. All you can do is put yourself into that group.
