Why though? Teams all around the league are finding guys that are above that....why should our expectations be any different?
I don't understand the mentality, from both fans and the team itself, of being content with having a less smelly turd.
Well, I would say...
A) We don't have a 1st round pick and legitimately "good" QB's don't tend to make their way into the open market. Unless their is a catch... like they're Rivers/Brady's age and have a ton of question marks around them for different reasons.
B) I think most realize that we went 12-4 with pedestrian QB play in 2018. Going 8-8 with horrible QB play in 2019. I think most see that "If we're just decent at the position. We're probably in the mix in the NFC."
It's like... we all WANT to date super models, yeah? But there's a finite amount and most guys don't have access to that.
Carr, Dalton, old man Brady, old man Rivers, AJ McCarron, 2nd round project draft pick... and Mitchell Trubisky. These are our choices. Take the best one and hope it's a good fit. Again, we don't need elite QB play to be competitive.
