BALTIMORE, MD - After a tremendous regular season where the Orioles found themselves in the postseason for the first time in years, ownership has decided to take the team in a different direction. A direction that has never been heard of in professional sports. Signing baseball players off of a sports message board.
Unhappy with the players in the organization, Orioles Manager Buck Showalter brought the idea up to ownership mainly as a joke after a disappointing exit from the playoffs. He never would have thought that they would take it seriously enough to act on it.
They did.
After about a week and a half of "recruiting" players from the message board, the Orioles filled out their roster keeping some of the vets like Markakis and Weiters (however both lost their starting jobs), along with the 16 players they were able to get from SportsHoopla and are now ready to go.
"I was just really upset after getting knocked out of the playoffs" Showalter said "This way not only do we have a new roster but we get to play 2012 all over again" he added.
We tried reaching out to Bud Selig for comment but realized we didn't want to actually talk to him because he is an enormous douche bag.
***Please don't post until I get the entire rosters photos up. Thanks.
