Rutgers would lose a respectable game to Murray State.osu doesn't have to, they play Rutgers. You don't need Murray State.

There's a big difference between having to play a conference opponent & had picking an OOC FCS team to play.
I'd have no issues with this. OSU owns ND.so, you swap Fla Atl for ND and we swap Murray State for Indiana

You had a 1 point win in 2017 and a 7 point win 38 years ago. Ohio State has 4 wins by 2+ TDs in the last 25 years. Not quite the same.So does Georgia

OSU is basically Rutgers now that Urban is gone.
Nothing you just said is accurate. Is this what michigan fans have to resort to these days?
Again, OSU did not upgrade during this change over; top to bottom.Schiano, Davis, and Wilson were total duds. The staff is an upgrade from last year, no doubt. Day has ingratiated himself into the program. There's nothing to be pessimistic about.
I think OSU fans are seeing my posts and going "psshhh Michigan" without realizing they lost a once in a generation coach, better than Tressel, and replaced him with an unproven assistant.I actually agree and have my own concerns about this staff. I'm in wait and see mode before run my mouth mode.
Maybe read the thread. You apparently don't understand jokes at the expense of a rival. He is a terrible spokesperson for them. I'm betting other scUM posters would like to pummel him behind closed doors......

So - again - how does this make Day a bad coach?Again, OSU did not upgrade during this change over; top to bottom.

All of those schools have had inconsistencies for several years spanning multiple coaches and staffs filled with very questionable hires. Of course it's possible that OSU could drop down to being mediocre, like it's technically possible with all schools, but I don't see it. We lost a generational coach, true. However, that generational coach was able to retire because of his extreme confidence in Day. Plus, it's not like he's coaching UTEP. He's got probably one of the 3 most powerful brands behind him at Ohio State. Nobody is saying it's a guarantee, but there's no reason to think he won't be able to have a tremendous amount of success.Exactly. Past few years we’ve seen just how hard it is for big time programs to hit the ground running with new coaches, both experienced and inexperienced head coaches. USC, FSU, Miami, Michigan, Texas (until this year), Oregon, Nebraska, Virgini Tech, etc all playing below their standards. We could just as easily fall into that mix. I’d love to think we’d be Oklahoma and just keep on rolling but there’s no guarantees. The wheels can fall off in a hurry.

Right now the 2020 recruiting class is top 3, and he's minimized recruiting losses. They're considered a favorite for many 5* guys, including the #1 recruit overall. His offensive talent is obvious, seeing what Barrett and Haskins did under him. We'll see how his staff does. It'd be an enormous shock to see them go the way of Miami or Florida State. It’s the recruiting I’m most worried about. Urban came here Day 1 and recruited at a level we’ve never seen before. Urban also was an amazing judge of talent when it came to coaching hires. Coach Day has made some decent hires thus far, but no big splashes and the jury is still out how his staff will perform. Urban left us with a lot of riches on the roster, so early success can be deceiving. I’m worried about years 2 and 3 going forward. I’m just telling you man, there’s growing pains ahead. Don’t want to see our fan base lose their collective minds when Day has his first 3+ loss season, because like it or not it’s coming.
