It's called being realistic. Deep down you know they are going to piss down their leg again in game 5. I'm just the one who's saying it.

So, were you being realistic back in August when you were telling me how worthless the Indians were, that they had no "magic," and would lose the division to the Royals?

Face it, man, you're fair-weathered as hell. It's okay. Just accept it.

Lindor is the most frustrating, he's doing the same shit he did when he struggled in the first half of the season, basically every swing is a HR swing. Which I thought he figured out didn't work for him, but apparently not.

They were only 2 games in 1st in early August, that was not a good thing at the time.

Indians are now 3-16 in their last 19 clinching games.

1999: 0-3
2001: 0-2
2007: 1-4
2013: 0-1
2016: 2-4
2017: 0-2
That 2013 WC brings back bad memories. 9 hits, at home, lost 4-0

1 game off the division title to the detroit tigers, who we went 4-15 against

Two games is a lead, but you were sure they were going to cough it up because they had no "magic."

Fact is, they weren't in much different shape than they were at that time in 2016, but you were busy shitting on them because you're a fair-weather fan.

Seriously, I can't be the only person that's brought this to your attention. Or can I?

No shit. I was about six rows back behind home plate.

Because they were facing the Rays, and neither of their fans were at the game, The Jake was nothing but Indians fans and the place was absolutely rocking. For a few innings, anyway . . .

Have you watched the games? It's like the top part of our order doesn't try to do anything except hack for the fences, which they haven't done all year. I'm not saying it's all us, but there have been a lot of uncharacteristically awful ABs from our best hitters.

Like I pointed out, the Yankees staff has been doing that to many hitters the final weeks of the season. This isn't something that just happened out of the blue with Cleveland. Much of the staff has been great for a while now.

Yankees staff going into the playoffs:

Severno: 2.28 ERA, .181 BAA, 0.95 WHIP last 16 starts
Gray: 2.84 ERA, .201 BAA, 1.09 WHIP last 17 starts
CC: 2.91 ERA, .246 BAA, 1.19 WHIP last 8 starts
Tanaka: 3.54 ERA, .227 BAA, 1.05 WHIP last 16 starts

Robertson: 0.62 ERA, .113 BAA, 0.45 WHIP, 13.3 K/9 last 24 appearances
Chapman: 0.61 ERA, .102 BAA, 0.55 WHIP, 11.7 K/9 last 14 appearances
Green: 1.59 ERA, .145 BAA, 0.71 WHIP, 14.9 K/9 last 28 appearances
Kahnle: 0.68 ERA, .208 BAA, 1.20 WHIP, 13.5 K/9 last 15 appearances
Warren: 1.91 ERA, .179 BAA, 0.85 WHIP, 8.7 K/9 last 30 appearances
Betances: 2.59 ERA, .140 BAA, 1.05 WHIP, 13.5 K/9 last 34 appearances

If you had realized how good the Yankees pitching was (as evidenced by the numbers above), you would've known that it wouldn't be a walk in the park for the Cleveland offense. Instead, for some reason you were delusional to this fact and as a result it was a big surprise when the Cleveland lineup struggled against NYY pitching.

Even the best of offenses often have uncharacteristically bad at bats vs great pitching...this isn't new to baseball.....

A "fair-weather" fan is someone who is only around when the team is winning.

I'm a realistic fan, not a sunshine pumper. Fact is they are in big trouble of wasting a 102 win season right now by blowing a 2-0 lead in a 3 game series.

So, I assume you picked the Yankees to win the series then.

What's weird, though, is that the Indians pitchers were better in August and significantly so in September and they scored more runs over that time as well.

Alright. I'll accept your definition of fair-weather, and somewhat agree that you're not that.

However, you're much more of a pessimistic fan than you are a realistic fan.

Now, regarding the offensive shutdown, in September, I brought up my concern that with the ridiculously easy schedule in September, the Indians weren't seeing very much good (or even above average) pitching, so they might not be prepared to face top-line pitching when they reached the playoffs.

This could be some of that.

The Yanks fans in here crying, calling the series over, calling for Girardi's head.. seems so long ago. Now we are heading into game 5 winner takes all

I didn't see anyone say the Yankees didn't worry them. I know I said I was nervous before Game 1. I considered the Yankees to be almost as dangerous as the Astros, and a short series should worry anyone, regardless of the opponent..

OSU claimed that the Yankees didn't worry him at the end of the season.

I had it as a tossup going into the series and didn't think there was a clear winner going into the series. The thing with the Yankees was that much of the poor performances going into the playoffs were from players who wouldn't have been on the playoff roster or a big part of it (particularly Jamie Garcia, Jordan Montgomery and Chase Shreve)....the rest of the staff on the whole was rather

Kluber is going to put this team on his back and pitch a fucking GEM tomorrow night. 8 IP, 10 Ks, 1 BB, 1 ER.

I was glad to see how dominant he was, though. Sometimes I think he's a little soft mentally, so I was happy he went to the Bronx and kicked ass in that atmosphere.

If Kluber hadn't of shat himself, the Indians' pitching stats would be outrageous.

Who would have guessed that the weak spot on the Indians' staff thus far would be Corey Fucking Kluber?
I hate to say it, but our buddy Doug would have. In fairness his "Kluber has not heart" or the classic "Kluber
Check the ESPN mlb page, he talks about his contract being up end of year...and how he'll "accept any decision"

The rumors are flying.
He is not going anywhere. It would be a PR nuclear disaster if the team let him walk. However, if he does leave he won't be out of work very long

Aaron Judge is clearly the MVP and totally not Jose Altuve. :rolleyes2:
Are you FUCKING kidding me? If Aaron Judge wins the MVP that award is an equally fucked up decision. I can certainly see Altuve having a good case. Valuable players do not hit .198 and get benched for 3 weeks because they can't hit their own cajones. And yes, before you stat heads get all butthurt about how much avg. is so yesteryear...I'll let you in on a secret.

I DONT GIVE A SHIT
