Also, earlier, you poo-poo'ed the Indians' ownership of Verlander, which leads me to believe you don't know how bad it is.

JV vs CLE - 4.71 ERA
JV vs everyone else - 3.21 ERA

In his last 17 starts against the Indians, he's 3-10 with a 5.45 ERA.

Doesn't mean beating him is a sure thing, but it's definitely in his head.

I guess we'll see tomorrow, but I think it's worth noting that he has yet to face Cleveland as an Astro, he was better in 2018 than he's been since at least 2012, and last but certainly not least, he pitches very well in the post-season. Usually at the expense of the Yankees.

That's what Red Sox fans said about Sale until Tribe smacked him around in Boston.

False. He was dynamite in the 2nd halves of 2016 and 2017 (just got off to slow starts), and the Indians fucked him up then too.

he pitches very well in the post-season

Also somewhat false. JV postseason ERAs by series:

2006 DS - 5.06
2006 CS - 6.75
2006 WS - 5.73
2011 DS - 5.00
2011 CS - 5.56
2012 DS - 0.56
2012 CS - 1.08
2012 WS - 11.25
2013 DS - 0.00
2013 CS - 1.13
2014 DS - 5.40
2017 DS - 3.12
2017 CS - 0.56
2017 WS - 3.75

That's fourteen series, seven of them with a 5+ ERA.

So although he's brutalized the A's and Yankees in the postseason, overall he's had his shit pushed in as often as he hasn't.

add all those starts together and he has a 3.07 postseason ERA. he has an average game score of 68 in the postseason and a game score above 65 in 9 of his 21 starts. Sounds like a very good postseason pitcher to me.

Truth.

Doesn’t change what I posted.

In half of the series he’s appeared in, he’s been fantastic. In half of the series he’s been in, he’s sucked balls. Add it all up? 3.07 ERA.

Here’s to hoping this series is one of the shit the bed ones for him.

Also, the Wolverines suck ass, Harbaugh is a fag, and the Indians retired that juiced up Mexican freak in your avi.

Seriously though. He’s got the potential to be a wipe out pitcher in the postseason or otherwise.

However, if I’m going to give someone an “amazing postseason pitcher” accolade, it won’t be to a guy with a 5+ ERA in half the series he’s been in.

He could be amazing, but there’s certainty precedent that he could lay a hot, steamy dump right on the pitching rubber and roll around in it.

Ding, ding, ding.

However, I have to tell you, a guy I know recently told me that joke, and although I've known it for years, I didn't say anything and let him tell it, because he's a great story teller. He didn't disappoint.

I asked, "how?" And he went on to give brief, but descriptive instructions...

"you see, first, you bend over him <he's bending over as he's talking> and you cross your arms like this, and grab one of his legs in each hand like so. Then you slowly lift them up and start to uncross your arms, flipping the dog over. Then you suck it's dick."

Try that in the future. It's the best way to tell that joke.

Sox need to chase the Yankees starters out and stretch out that bullpen. Otherwise, I'm not feeling good about this series. Especially not the prospect of Porcello in Yankee Stadium.

Yanks HAVE to split these two games. That happens, I love their chances. They go down 0-2 like last year, well, it's hard to see them winning 3 straight with the 3rd in Boston.
