Yanks will be interesting come October.

They weren't as good as their torrid start record indicated. But they are also not close to as bad as they have been struggling.

Don't think they have enough to beat the Astros all around squad in the AL. But will still be the team with the best shot imo.

Alex Rodriguez said on the broadcast tonight that he wasn't sure which direction the Yankees were going right now. He said Judge should have been locked up 3 years ago. He questioned why they lost Castillo to the Mariners and why they traded Montgomery to the Cardinals for a "4th outfielder".

As much as i didn't understand the Monty move, starting pitching is clearly not the issue right now. Getting shutout 2x, scoring 2 and 3 runs in 1 week is the main problem

Cole gave them 7 shutout innings
Cortez gave them 6 innings, 10 ks, and allowed 3 runs.
Taillon gave them 7 innings and 3 ER.
German gave them 6 innings and allowed 1 run.

All of this happened this week and all of these games ended as losses

Think it goes without saying, they need Stanton and Carpenter/his syringe back.

Will the Yankees be able to afford Judge's salary requirement? I would think that negotiations would start at 5/$250MM and go up from there. 7/$340MM might just get him.

not sure how that makes the AL East overrated. Sounds more like a division beating each other up (or on the Red Sox, lol). Red Sox have the worst SRS ranking in the division and it still ranks 18th in MLB. Otherwise, 4 of the top 14 are from the AL East. Everyone in the division has played more than half of their games against .500+ teams (Sox have played 85).

Then again, the NY Post isn't known for intelligent sports discussion.

I can agree that it hasn't really mattered in regards to the Yankees' division lead. Yanks do play a somewhat tougher schedule than the Jays but even if the Jays do outperform them over the final month and a half, it would still take a lot to choke a 10 game lead with 47 games left. Astros also have a considerably softer schedule.

I'd say they missed their opportunity with the Yankees only winning 11 of their last 30, but the Yankees are showing no signs of coming out of this, so...........:noidea:

Yanks are now 31-28 on the road, that record has fallen off a cliff…..they just need Boone “best manager in baseball” to give a Bluto-like Animal House speech to rally the squad……
