I'm here to tell you that's not really going to be possible. You can't play outside in July and August. Fuck you can't even walk 10 feet without being drenched in sweat.

My guess is they work something out with Miami, similar to how the Yankees played in Shea back in the 70s when they were remodeling the stadium.

I guess they are going to try to play at Steinbrenner field. Good luck with that. They'll be lucky to draw 2000 per

I guess there is something to be said about the Tampa Bay Rays actually playing in Tampa though

Suddenly, it all makes sense

Per an AP MLB report, the #Yankees will gain about $15M in additional revenue this coming season per their agreement to allow the #Rays to play their home games at Steinbrenner Field.

They're also working with MLB and the PA to get upgrades to suit major leaguers (facilities, locker rooms, equipment, etc). I assume they'll upgrade vendors and concourses - and maybe add seating, too (TB Averaged 16k last year- GSF holds 11k)...

Yanks already had some upgrades in the works. This is a huge opportunity to have TB & MLB pay for it.

Thanks Rays, for your donation to the Soto fund.

Exactly... I just hope they get it over with. I can't image him going to the Mets after a year in the Bronx.

Everyone else is just being used by Boras. I can't believe Boston just wasted three hours in California (Manager, GM, President, & Chairman), just to bump up his price for someone else....

He's going where he gets the most money. I know he'll come back to the Yankees with his best offer and ask them to beat it.

We shall see. These aren't George's Yankees anymore, and Cohen has money to burn.

Nobody is showing interest merely to drive up the price. Everyone knows how good Soto is and how high his market is. It’s nice to see the Sox trying to sit at the Big Boy table again, regardless, but I have to think there is almost zero chance they are the high bidders here. I like the Mets chances given how much payroll they have cleared recently.

Interesting Soto twists... this dude says Soto wants to be the face of a franchise. In NY, he'll always be behind Judge... Boston only has Devers, who wants nothing to do with the limelight....

He also says Soto grew up a Red Sox fan....

And in a separate article, Soto's mom lives in the same building as David Ortiz, and they are apparently great friends...

Heard very similar things with the Mets and how close he is with Lindor.

Those relationships + the most money will get it done.

No relationships + the most money will also get it done.

Agreed.... I still can't imagine Boston matching other offers.

But, it is certainly fun to watch... Despite Boras' negative reviews from teams and players, he sure knows how to leak info and use the media...

He really hasn't served his clients well recently.

Bellinger and Snell are the most recent examples. Both should have signed long term deals, but Boras's ridiculous asks made them accept one and two year deals while Spring training was underway
