I can agree that it hasn't really mattered in regards to the Yankees' division lead. Yanks do play a somewhat tougher schedule than the Jays but even if the Jays do outperform them over the final month and a half, it would still take a lot to choke a 10 game lead with 47 games left. Astros also have a considerably softer schedule.

AL East teams obviously beat on themselves much more than say the Central or AL West. So they are not overrated in that sense.

I will say though, I do not think outside of the Yanks anyone in the AL East is really a legit contender for title or even the pennant.

I think the Astros are so much clearly better and the NL has numberous better options too. Basically, in watching the AL East this year, i think their 2nd and 3rd best teams have been better in like every other recent season. They just dont have a punching bag at the bottom this year. Like this is very clearly not anywhere close to the best teams of the Rays or Red Sox

I agree. I think there's a pretty big gap between the Astros/Yanks and the rest of the AL.
Maybe a gift basket of fried chicken and beer to Yankee stadium is in order. Bet Rizzo would be in to it.

With a card in there from Adrian Gonzalez that says it's "all part of God's plan"

That last run is brutal off this bum, why not cheat the OF in when they have to keep it a 1 run game?

Yep embarassing shit.

Believe it or not, I actually feel better about this team than I did 2 weeks ago. At least they are doing something right instead of being bad at both hitting and pitching

So glad we traded a rotation mainstay for a CF on the DL, and continue to trot the corpse of Aaron HIcks out there every night.
