Lane Thomas to CLE
I don’t get this at all unless more players included. Clemmey is a youngster that looks like he has a bright future and Thomas is under control until 2026 but nothing special

Clemmey is a nice young guy--- he was a prep arm we drafted last year--- we just drafted 5 pretty high profile prep arms who cant be traded- they have the surplus

We needed a righty bat and an outifelder who can play center pretty bad. Thomas has been playing well the last couple months and was a monster last year.

I think they love Rocchio's defense at SS and do not want to move him even if the bat is a wet noodle right now- and are instead focusing on other positions

what is insane is the catcher situation

we are stuck with Naylor and Hedges--- if love to add Diaz from the Rockies--- but they cant cut Hedge's even if his numbers say he deserves it 1000%---- for whatever reason Hedges is the heartbeat of the team.

I saw a story where last year Jose went up to one of the beat reporters and said "this is what we are missing"- and flipped the reporter the nameplate from Hedges locker.

its insane but somehow its the truth.

SP is still the biggest need though

Thomas submitted his best season as a professional last year, when he posted a .268/.315/.468 slash line, with 28 home runs and 20 stolen bases. This year, he has improved his walk and strikeout rates — developments the Guardians always covet — but his power numbers have dipped. Still, he has crushed left-handed pitching, to the tune of a .922 OPS, something the Guardians sorely need. The key will be whether he can return to league average or close to it against right-handed pitching, or if he’s destined to be a glorified platoon bat.

I think the SP cost might just be too much- and they will count on Williams getting it together--- and some combination of Boyd, McKenzie, Cantillo, Carrasco, Allen--- which is frightening.

I think its more likely they add a reliever--- but the reliever costs are through the freaking roof right now. Teams are giving up 2-3 legit prospects for a good reliever--- I cant imagine what the cost for an SP must be.

White Sox- giving up Fedde- must believe in Vargas who was a top 30 prospect just a year ago and was kind of blocked/mismanaged by the Dodgers--- if you would not give up DeLatuer or Manzardo for him- you prob. werent getting him.

I know nothing about what you gave up. But its a decent move.

Thomas is kinda who he is but he's got some pop where he could go on a surge

Should probably be more selective stealing bases though.

the other 2 guys were way down the list- and one was a middle infielder (Tena)- so really no loss there- RAmirez is a middle infielder also apparently.

Clemmey was their 2nd round pick last year- a lefty high schooler who they liked- reports are good stuff but the command is an issue-- which is odd becuase the guardians usually draft the good command guys and get more velocity out of them--- kind of the flip of what they usually draft.

Definitely a bummer to be completely done with the Tigers prior to them tanking for the final 2 months.

And the fact we drew Skubals turn in rotation again smh

For the first half this team was consistently inconsistent and banked on bigger win streaks than losing streaks

Now we are just consistently blahhhhhh. Injuries ruined the offensive flow. Bad innings ruin a game and we just trade wins and losses for weeks now.

Have got to get fucking scrubs like Martin back down to the minors. WIth guys like Jeffers, Castro and Lee slumping. Cant have a legit auto out playing too.

We went double, single to start the game. Have had maybe 1 competent AB since.

Quick

Call Jeffers and Kepler Rocchio 2.0. I need this same type of instant karma.
ill throw you a bone and help-

Jeffers was amazing in April but has basically been flaming dog shit since then--- his June and July numbers deserve being outrighted and signing in Korea--- not even South Korea- North Korea.

Kepler hasn't homered since 1945.

And we had Matt Wallner in AAA hitting 12 homers for a month and couldn't get called up until Austin "Rocchio" Martin got hurt.

We have arguably the best and deepest lineup in baseball when healthy and starting the right guys. But opt to punt every other game.

They’ve traded a backup catcher so far.

Dirk Diggler > Carson Kelly.

It’s not like they didn’t already have a AAAA lineup.
