Guardians have a rough schedule in August.

Balt. for 4
Arizona for 3
Minne for 4
Cubs for 3
Mil for 3
Yanks for 3

that is a rough stretch right there---- good to get a game on the Twins tonight. Everyone of those teams except the Cubs has a winning record and is a good team.

2 more against Detroit- then those next 20 games are gonna go a long way in seeing where the Guardians finish. Gonna be a brutal 3 weeks. If they go 11-9 in that stretch itll be a big win.

It makes sense because you have so many teams within 3-4 games of a wild card berth. 6 teams for 3 spots in the AL plus 3 division leaders spells 9 potential buyers. In the NL it’s 7 teams for 3 spots. Add in the 3 division leaders and you have 10 potential buyers. I’m shocked with this new format you don’t see it more. Bull pen is sooooo expensive. Everybody needs it. (Except you guys haha)
I get it but damn. Kikuchi is not that good but watch him turn into a beast now.

Stowers and Norby for Trevor Rogers?

this is out of control. That is two cheap, controllable legit major league talents. 12 years of control of guys that should be good players. I wanted Stowers on the Guardians.

this is why the Guardians have to keep developing starting pitching--- the last 1 1/2 has been tough considering the injuries to Bieber, McKenzie and Espino-- but pitchers get injured- you can never have enough

I am beginning to think you just roll with Mathew Boyd and maybe try and get a reliever.

you cant give up guys with 6 years of control for mediocre starting pitching that are just big "ifs" if they are even an answer anyway.

Kind of bizarre to me some buyers are losing their minds over this market. Usually the trade deadline is pretty inherently pro-buyer despite the rhetoric of there being seller's markets in recent years. This is just weird now.

Insane payment for a guy with a 1.5 WHiP and a FIP in the mid 4s

Sure he’s just 26 himself.

But people were talking these guys in a Skubal deal.

They got a guy with a 7.3 K/9 instead

I do have to say- all considered--- its mostly packages of multiple good prospects- rather than elite prospects

there has not been 1 truly really really highly regarded prospect traded yet--- outside looking in- I think Kyle Manzardo would be the best prospect to change hands at this deadline like he was at least years deadline.

however- the approach of getting multiple "good" prospects is an approach the Guardians have taken for a while in some of their trades- like the Clevinger deal- that landed them Naylor, Hedges, Quintrell, Arias, Cantillo and Owen Miller.

Cobb to Guardians.

Not gonna scare anyone.

But also an upgrade to the garbage they are currently tossing out there and winning with

be nice to finish off this win.

It is the Tigers---- so take it with a grain of salt- but Gavin has looked really good today. It was always going to take him some time after missing a lot of spring training and 3 months of the season.

be nice if they could finish this game- and the Twins lose to the Mets tonight with the Guardians going into the hardest part of their schedule of the season.

Worth the flyer is he can be around the last 3 years Cobb tho.
I guess he was supposed to start in the majors against the A's yesterday but was pushed back with a blister --- he had been out a long time with hip surgery---- not an arm injury- so that is at least encouraging.

Guessing it probably didn’t cost much either which makes sense in this market. Any decent pitcher is going to be a crazy return apparently

Bibee, Williams, Lively---- and some combination of McKenzie, Allen, Boyd, Cobb, Cantillo- is what it looks like.

I actually think Boyd could be interesting- he is throwing well, motivated- and always could strike guys out- and the Guards do a good job of helping guys. Obviously not a game changer but might be better than most people would assume.

Jacob Bresnahan- a guy I have never heard of (and if he is a even semi decent prospect I would have prob. heard of him), and a PTBNL.
