I pride myself on an open door policy. Make an appointment and I'll set a time we can talk in private and in confidence about anything to do with the company and your job. But imagine what would happen if someone just strolled into my office, put their feet on my desk and started bitching about the setting of the thermostat, or the snack selection in the break rooms or how prejudiced it is to have names on some of the parking spaces, etc. I'd probably watch them a few minutes to be sure it wasn't just a prank being pulled on me and then I'd go Roman on the SOB. There's a wrong way to do anything and these kids just don't get it: the University is bigger than any individual. The real problems start when the milquetoast teachers and administrators forget that.
