Good QB Play?

That is being....generous at best...Wilson was 22nd in yards, Fields actually had a better comp%, had 15 TD's (even if you combine that with Fields 6 that's barely 1 TD a game), his QB rating puts him smack in the middle, and his QBR is worse.
I was referring to the 2 years when Ben was QB and put up career numbers in the regular season and the team had 12-13 wins. He also had stellar play in at least one other season the Steelers didn't make the playoffs. When the team was primed for success with the right personnel, they shit the bed in the playoffs, and it mostly had to do with bad defense.

When you lose games like 48-37 and 45-42, elite QB play was not enough.

I'm of the thought that it will never really matter if the Steelers have elite QB, top OL, elite skill talent, etc because this team will always be outcoached in January.

If anything this years Bengals should be a stark reminder of what the Steelers were for period of time.
You had Ben, AB and Lev Bell but could not win when it counted since the defense wasn't there.

LJ about to have more MVP's than playoff wins...that is....wild...lol
.
I know the onus is going to fall on Andrews, but LJ had like 1 really good drive - that was to potentially tie it up. LJ had his own fumble, and INT, and honestly didn't look comfortable running the ball. It always seems like in big games, there are these moments that he turns into "I'm going to PROVE I can be a passing QB and not run" instead of just doing what got them there.

That looked 100% like a Lou Anamaro defense on that last drive with the "Bend but don't break" but then don't get any pass-rush because of sending 2 or 3 guys - and still giving up points...lol

Hell of a game, though. Go Buff's.

I was surprised that Baltimore didn't run Jackson more.... I think they even mentioned at halftime that the Bills would have a hard time accounting for both Jackson and Henry in the zone read, but it didn't seem to come out much. I also didn't understand the Bills defense late..... They did a good job for most of the game because they were committing resources to blitzing Lamar and making him throw quick but when the game was on the line they rushed 3.

It's the late game "Book" that all coaches love to go by so when it doesn't work - they have an excuse. Reality is - they are so afraid to give up a big play that they'd rather just bleed to death with 1000 cuts. Hell, I'd rather just give up the big play - and if you stop them on the 2pt conversion - so what. If they get it - then I Buff had 2 TO's and like 2+ minutes left to move into range for a potential GW FG...

Coaches out think themselves way too often.

He could have made a roast on the last TD, sat back there forever which put too much pressure on CB’s in coverage…..

Anyone on this board could have completed some kind of pass on that last possession for Bmore...it was comical how much time there was.

The best DB's in the game are going to allow someone to get open with that kind of time. Especially if you find that most of the defense, if not all of them, are in a zone - a WR will find the soft spot eventually.

I agree. In fact, the defense was so porous that the Ravens ended up scoring with a bunch of time on the clock anyway. But you are right, if the worst that is going to happen is that the other team is going to tie it up, why not go all out to force a stop or an interception? You'll get the ball back and your qb is Josh Allen.

I was also intrigued by the strategy to blitz Lamar more in this game. It seems to me that everytime I watch the Ravens, teams will dedicate a spy to stopping Jackson but given this commitment, he isn't blitzed as much. Now, maybe he torches blitzes and I just haven't seen it - I'm too lazy to find the numbers. But, at least the blitz seemed to get the ball out of his hand, rather than letting him run around back there in the pocket until guys get free.

It seems to me that the Ravens always have the roster with the most all-pros..... As good as Harbaugh is as a coach, you'd figure there would be louder chatter about his postseason results vs. expectation.

Had to troll a bit... But good season to the Ravens. :suds:

They battled hard. Turning the ball over 3 times and still being in position to tie the game was pretty wild.
