There is only one choice here. John Ross. Worthless, #9 overall pick, and Mahomes draft a couple picks later. Because the Bengals went with Ross over Mahomes, and he basically was the most worthless receiver I have ever seen, he is my only choice. Put me down for him, as my answer won't change no matter who you throw out there as an option.

If only one mine is still Ross (might be Holden if I was older and could form the angst you have for Ross).

I get the correlation here, but it's a false narrative. The Bengals were NEVER picking a QB at that point. So, it doesn't matter if Peyton Manning was on the board...the Bengals LOVED Dalton. I'll remind you that Dalton was coming off a 65%, 4200, 18/8, and 91 rating season...Dalton had some warts, but he was coming off 2 really good seasons (2015 would have been a great year if not for the thumb injury). The Bengals were happy with their QB.

I still say Warrick. He had way more hype after nearly winning the Heisman. I think Ross deserves mention, but I'm not so sure there was as much hype around Ross as their was Warrick.

I can agree Warrick was more hyped. I'll still stick with Ross due to less production I think.

Throw Mahomes out the equation, it is still John Ross by a damn land slide.

Agree to disagree...I still think Warrick holds an edge. Much higher hopes and expectations. I also think it matters that this team still had AJ Green. Ross was never going to be a #1. Warrick was absolutely expected to be the #1 WR. He was drafted to replace Pickens, IIRC...

Warrick is not even #2 worst WR busts in team history more less the whole dang division.

David Verser of the Bengals is #2

John Ross #1
David Verser #2
Peter Warrick #3? Maybe.

Best part of this entire exercise is that it has us arguing over which guys on our own teams were trash bags....LOL
Haha...so true. I suspect if we have enough participate will be more Browns fans going at it over our busts on the defensive side when we get there.

Steelers it has to be Troy Edwards
Bengals Ross over Verser
Browns I am going with Coleman over Adams or Rowe (might be the worst of the 2nd rounders, even worse than Tillman)

Oh hell.....earlier when still talking about QBs I mentioned Coleman for WR but forgot.when it got to WR. He has to be Browns top 3 but I'd still take Ross.

Out of my top three (one from each team)

1. John Ross
2. Corey Coleman
3. Troy Edwards
No Raven WR touches them with Perriman being the closest but his career was better than Edwards.

If you just look at the stats...I'd agree. But I think context matters here. Warrick had a TON of hype surroudning his pick, and was expected to come onto the team as the #1 WR and do what he did in college.

Ross came with speed, and some questions...and on a team that had: AJ Green, Tyler Boyd (when he was really freaking good), and CJ Uzomah at TE...Ross is a bust...but his impact was not expected to be the same as Warrick's. There was some expectation of Ross being behind Green and Boyd for the first year, and kind of working him in.

If we are going to talk about context with guys like Ki-Jana, and his prior injury history, etc...then I think it's only fair to look at context within the draft pick itself and not just base it on stats alone. I don't think that tells a full story. Ross is a bust, but his expected impact was way below what was expected out of Warrick.

Forgot about Warrick. :L That rookie year was brutal with targets vs catches, unfortunately his QB was Akilli Smith so that didn't help.

His big career highlight was the punt return against KC when they were like 11-0 or something, and Chad had done his first "guarantee" that the Bengals were going to win that game.

I happened to be at that game. Cold as balls, IIRC...

Thought this group would have a good time with it...So far it hasn't disappointed
I think what makes it work is that everyone has a different view of what they consider to be a bust. Some will look only at the stats, some will add more context...and some will just go with a personal feeling.

Despite the "arguments" - really, there aren't any wrong answers. Well, except @CrashDavisSports's...LOL

FWIW, I think its way more fun to do an "ALL-BUST" team than it would be for an "ALL-TIME" team where we'd likely get a lot more heated about who is better. The dick/stat-measuring would be exhausting
