With all of these stupid expensive reliever deals, I think the Royals need to bite the bullet on Davis while his stock is still high. I'm willing to take a chance on someone's top prospect for next year over Davis at this point.
It's a sellers market this year evidently. When it comes to relievers.

(I'm bitter since we don't enough to get one.)

Price will most likely be giving his pocket change to Fulmer soon enough. Atleast 30 cents worth or so.

(It's went up three starts in a row now. Wouldn't have against your Sox, but since we have two relievers and a group BP specialists, Big Bad Brad had to leave him in too long. Imo)

I love seeing Ricky P do well though. Maybe he gets win #14 tonight? Maybe that bullpen continues to be even more awful than Detroits, when it matters?

It's been frustrating. Losing Carson Smith for the year, Kimbrel for a month or so, and Uehara/Tazawa (not that they're particularly great) really hurts. Especially when it means giving meaningful innings to guys like Tommy Layne/Buchholz/Kelly. Barnes/Hembree/Ross have had their moments (and have given the Sox some pretty nice 2+ inning performances), but they've been pretty inconsistent. They could play some significant roles in 2017 and beyond though.

It's not even an excuse to bring up injuries. It's a reason! Just crazy how many have went down.

Since when does Joe Kelly throw 101? JV kept hitting 96 and I was impressed. It was hot as hell, so I thought maybe. Then Kelly came in and I decided the gun was off.

And what ever happened to Buchholtz?

Porcello's quietly put together a pretty good year. This is actually year #1 of the extension. He hasn't had any real shellackings (most runs he's given up was 5 runs (three times), and he's gone 5+ innings in every start.

Even Price leads the AL in IP and Wright's 14th in MLB. Sox front three has done a good job giving the Sox innings. It's the back end of the rotation that's been killing them. Hopefully Pomeranz can solidify that #4 spot. His start against the Tigers was better than just about anything they've gotten from Kelly/Buchholz/O'Sullivan/etc. (not saying much).

not the least bit surprising, but all he was really throwing was fastballs.

What's your problem with Buchholz? He's gonna have a career year. Just ask Rock Strongo.

Buttholes has an uncanny ability to be either great and broken, or shitty and healthy. Plus, he looks like Herman Munster's bastard child on meth.

Anything else you want to know about him?

Rick's best years lay ahead of him. He's a feel guy and his struggles always came from those shallackings. He got a little more zip out of his arm a few years ago and he didn't seem to know how to handle it. He's gonna be real good in his thirties imo. When that curve is working its a thing of beauty.

Love watching him pitch. Even if it's often to contact.

Speaking of which, last time I looked, the only guy who'd given up more hits in the AL than Pelfrey, was Price. I almost couldn't believe it. But he's still going deep and still striking guys out. Strange year.

Said that right on his plaque.

(It honestly said "currently the manager of theCleveland Indians. Lol. All the plaques got specific like that. It was a bit boot strap. Green indoor/outdoor carpet with baselines painted. Still smelled like a basement. With a picture of Freddy Prince Jr.)

I've been rooting pretty hard for Porcello. He grew up pretty close to me (born in Morristown, NJ; went to school at Seton Hall prep).

I always just assumed you were from around Boston.

He was my Tiger the whole time he was in Detroit. (That's a lie, Don Kelly... But a lot of his time anyway.).

When Hunter came to town he gladly gave him his number, but just asked he donate to the Sandy Relief cause. Thought a lot of him for that.
