Not sure if you guys remember, but Alex Avila did finish 12th in MVP voting.

Feels like forever ago. And at 29, his playing career is almost over. But I'm guessing his coaching/managerial career will immediately follow.

Weren't Castellanos and Hosmer teammates in high school? When Nicky C was just a kid, since he's all those years younger than EH...

Hosmer really has had some very memorable moments in the past two postseasons. I still hear plenty about the "buttswing" vs the Astros locally.

He was a better hitter than Hosmer, imo.

Wouldn't go as far as to say better play though. (I was being a wise ass though. Sweeney hit 1.000 in the playoffs, for real.)

I had an odd schtick a few years back where I would flip flop Yuniesky Betancourt and Aviles. The suck blended together after a while.
