The ChiSox remind me of the Royals the last couple of years with that deep bullpen. Robertson, Duke, Putnam, Albers, Dennings, Albers. They have been lights out. It seems to be overlooked because of 3 starters that are having great years. People are thinking its been all about the SP but only 3 of the 5 are doing great. Rodon and Danks are not really cutting it and neither is the offense. This team team is very similar to the 2014 Royals; 3 deep with good starters, a terrific and deep bullpen, and an average offense.

Kinda my opinion on the Chisox ... I like Sale and Rodon a lot, but I don't see Latos or Quintana being any better than mediocre over the course of a full season.

Oh look another guy who thinks Quintana is a mediocre pitcher. He is the most underrated pitcher in baseball

Reason for AL Central Teams not to panic because of the Chicago White Sox. The 2014 Royals started out the season 14-17. Then they were 24-28, then 48-50. They proceeded to finish of the season at a 41-23 clip (.646). This got them 89 wins and a WC spot. Then they went 11-4 in the postseason in 2014. So they actually finished off the season 52-27 (.658). There is just too much pressure on the Royals right now, and I think that's their main problem. The last couple of years they played with a chip on their shoulder. Now they are just trying not to lose.

For the record: as much as I like Quintana, I don't see his WHIP staying below 1, his ERA staying below 2 or his league lead in Wild Pitches to hold up.

But I do see him going 200 innings for the fourth straight year in a row with an improved K to BB rate for the fourth straight year. Willing to bet he gets double digit wins for the first time in his career also.

His numbers will get corrected some once he gives up a couple homers. Hadn't realized he'd only given up one.

Quintana has a career 119 ERA+ (also threw 200+ innings the last three years), and that was with some of the worst defenses in the league behind him. That isn't mediocre. Obviously he isn't going to sustain the 1.38 ERA, but he's already a very good pitcher. People are just finally noticing.

He actually went undrafted in my Yahoo league. I couldn't believe it. I didn't hesitate to pick him up.
