I think you just need to go after Mid 20s BP arms with potential to be closers if you want to build your BP through FA ie you have to spend the assets willing to make those deals. There are multiple ways to build the BP but the most solid way is to drafting and developing players properly, no other way around it.
Can't argue that drafting and developing well isn't key in all areas. Pitching depth has definitely been overlooked for awhile now. But I'm not against adding pieces via FA and trades.

Tigers have had poor luck longterm in pretty much every aspect when it comes to the bullpen. Partly due to health not working in their favor, partly due to dealing pieces for more important pieces and partly due to Mr. I being fine with throwing money around all willy nilly. And not resigning guys after somewhat down years.

But even the best bullpens are put together by going different routes.

Most GMs will tell you that constructing a solid bullpen is one of the most difficult things to do. You sure make it sound easy.

It's ok. Indians getting bent over by the red sox. It's all falling into place already..except those pesky south siders. Who would have thunk they would shoot out of the gate so fast like the tigers???

Guess again.

We got the Jewish guy from the NATIONALS going. He looks like a good pitcher. He just might dominate the rest of the AL CENTRAL. Detriot will be rocking tomorrow.

What a gritty performance by the Red Wings, losing 5-2 to a collapsing Bruins team.

Dougie and his HEART predictions are on the line Saturday morning. The Red Wings pretty much HAVE to beat the Rangers (in NY) to make the playoffs. They could lose and still get in IF the Bruins lose too. But that would not show HEART.

So here, we go doug.....do the Wings have the HEART you claim all Detroit teams have?
