Nothing new. Decent relief pitchers put on a Tiger uniform and immediately become horseshit relief pitchers.

So, putting on the Olde English D doesn't raise their game or give them more heart? WTF, Doug says it turns mortals in to Supermen.

I was specifically referring to the guys you believe were signed late simply because they were 'black holes '(Davis, Uribe, Byrd).

Cowgill as it's been stated, is really a backup and just there because Brantley is out.

Napoli for the 4 years preceding 2015 averaged around 25 HR, .370 OBP and .500 SLG. He wasn't good in 2015, but I don't think it's a large enough sample size to act like he's done given that track record.

I like Davis, Uribe and Byrd on any major league roster, in the right roles.......Id love to have a Davis come off the bench with that baserunning ability......Uribe with his ability to play a lot of positions....And Byrd with his RH power bat

But I think if those guys make up 3/9ths of your everyday lineup, I see some long days ahead this summer

Compare them to the rest of the league at those positions, and you'll see they're not as bad as you're making them out to be....

Byrd the past 3 years has averaged .268/24/82. The average MLB team production from the LF spot last year was .255/19/72.

Uribe last year hit 14 HR in 119 games....to put that into perspective, 12 teams last year had 16 or less HR from their 3B spot, and that was over 162 games as opposed to 119.

Davis last year slugged higher than what 22 teams got from their CF (largely because he had many triples). He only played around 2/3 the season, but had a pace for around 80 runs scored as well.

None of those 3 are all star caliber players at this point....but I certainly wouldn't consider them crap consider they're performing better than quite a few MLB starters at those positions.

I looked...did not see a win for Verlander. Actually I see JV gave up 3 runs in 6 innings. Pretty average.

Tigers won. If k rod didn't blow 3 run lead. Verlander gets the win. I will teach you how to read box score
