AJ Pierzynski sucks as a catcher but his bat is 10 times better than Perez.... just an FYI.
Just so I understand where you're coming from, when you say "prior concussion issues," are you referring to his 7-day DL stint in 2013 for a mild concussion or is there more?
Do you understand what a concussion is? If he had to go on the DL for his concussion it was at least a grade 2... A grade 2 concussion isn't a "mild" concussion. Once you have a concussion your odds of getting more increase exponentially.
Grades of Concussion - No Such Thing as a Minor Concussion
Moneyball is the gayest baseball related thing I've ever came across.Fair enough.
Oddly, what really got me into baseball was the analysis of statistics. I had a cursory interest in stats in the early 2000's but then Moneyball (which I bought out of the business section of my local Barnes & Nobel) really kicked that into gear for me in 2003. I became serious baseball fan and what you might call a "stat nerd" almost overnight and remain as such. It wasn't until 2007 that I joined my first fantasy baseball league when a friend of mine suggested that since I spent so much time looking at baseball stats I might enjoy his fantasy league. Point being, the statistics of the game are one of the main attractions to the game for me, irrespective of my fantasy participation.
For the record, I've got a 6- and 4-year old and they both play baseball.
He got a concussion in the playoffs last year and they didn't report it... It was clear.. the guy got knocked out and kept blinking his eyes... But he just said he was fine and they let him play.Yes, I understand what a concussion is.
What I didn't understand and asked about was if you were considering a single 7-day DL stint for a concussion to be "prior concussion issues." You see, that "s" at the end of issue indicates plurality.
He has had his bell rung pretty good since then and passed concussion tests.
How many trips on the DL for concussion do you think it takes before its over?so your answer is ONCE
LOL... no comment on Matt " always hurt " Wieters?and he is bigger and past 31...so it was easy to find an answer to that
AJ Pierzynski sucks as a human being but his bat is 10 times better than Perez.... just an FYI.
I am willing to bet anyone ANYTHING Sal Perez ends up on the DL this year.. and nobody will take it. ANYTHING.
I will literally bet ANYTHING you want. He is going to be on the DL this year. GUARANTEED.

Its going to be glorious when Perez is on the DL this year... Not that I want to see it... I actually like the guy... but it will be great to jam down your throat.hell, all catchers get concussions ever season then if you count them shaking their head around and blinking after getting a ball to the mask.
Not much different than a Vice Saturday night.

Including Derek Jeter and AJ Pierzinski.
You mean like Matt Wieters does every year?Yeah, I don't give a fuck about a 15- or 30- day DL stint for a catcher. How about if he misses half the season or more?

that was 10 years ago.Maybe now, but he had a pretty solid reputation as a backstop in his prime, if for nothing else but his baseball IQ.
Matt Wieters is more likely to be in a doctor's waiting room than in a lineup. You and I define "every" differently.
