I will say though, Byrd just keeps on hitting. And he's using RF, with power, which you just don't see in this yard.
Peavy is looking OK, but he becomes a completely different pitcher in the 6th.
With a 3-run lead, he should get some rope, though (assuming no more scoring until then)
The more he continues to hit, the more and more I am OK with the over-pay with his vesting contract.I will say though, Byrd just keeps on hitting. And he's using RF, with power, which you just don't see in this yard.

I also think that Aoki has to have his option taken and then deal him. We have Pagan and Blanco to fill that player-type.
I think when guys are in this yard, all the shit going on out there scares them. The bricks, the fences, the corners- all of it.Kinda my default position when the ball bounces on the track with that much hang-time...
Aoki was a serious allstar contender this year before he got hit in the leg. He started coming around before he got hit in the face, and THAT effectively ended his season.Yeah I'm fine with Byrd returning, what's a few extra million if it's not from our pockets? Can the Giants get any value for Aoki? I agree that he's expendable assuming the Giants are healthy and wouldn't really be sad to see him go.
Ok, now you are just "Like" fishing...Eff the DH, amirite?

What was the last team to have FOUR pitchers hit HRs in the same season?
The Giants are making a serious team statement.
As enjoyable as the power is from the pitchers, I'd rather have them pitch better and win more games.
7 Ks.
Peavy is tossing BBs tonight.
