Realistically, we just wanted to avoid the sweep against this juggernaught Padre team. We still have a chance for that tomorrow. Unfortunately, we face CY contender Luis Perdomo, so the chances are not good.

If this season was a baseball stadium, at this point I'm walking to the concourse nearest to the exit and watching the game on the TV. I can play it off that I was going to the bathroom if things turn around, but realistically I want to get out of there.

Great job by Strickland and Okert using almost all fastballs rather than mixing in some breaking pitches. Damn, pathetic, worthless disaster of a bullpen. Another garbage loss snatched away from a win. This team doesn't deserve a playoff spot with fucking embarrassing losses like this one.

After throwing 7 consecutive balls. 2-0 on Pagan with two men on base for add-on runs and they get nothing. Typical.

I guess my take is now that they simply do not have a good enough bullpen. They might back into the playoffs, and Bum or Cueto might win the play in, but there's no way in baseball for them to get by the Cubs, not with this pen.

Good season but not good enough. It happens. Fucking shitty but most years that's how it goes. Gotta have a good bullpen to win in October, as we did for all 3 of ours.
