The benefit of “selling” is more about the losses that come with it than the prospect haul that comes back. But of course, you don’t give just for the sake of giving. You still want to TRY to get something back. One simple word to describe the Giants.... SELL!!!!!!!!
Edit: for below
Unfortunately we won't get much except salary relief. Maybe a lottery ticket prospect that hits.

I don’t give a shit about the money this club gets or saves. I don’t believe for a second it has any baring on any player they want to get or keep. They are printing money with the park and the surrounding properties. Their bottom line is their business. I only care about they team the put on the field and the direction of their baseball operation in general. Two benefits:
1. Clears salary to use in the offseason
2. Brings back prospect talent
It MAY improve draft position a little, but that's ancillary.
I only disagree to the extent that overpaying players and going above the thresholds, that will of course limit spending to make the team better if the Luxury Tax is eating into these profits from those ventures. I will be better for the Giants fans if they can get some/more Bargains so that the Luxury Tax won't make them miss out on a difference maker or two. So yes I want them to make some better choices so the Luxury Tax won't limit progress. If they spend to the limit or a bit over and win big then yes I don't care if they lose some profits but spending badly will ensure they won't get near the top.I don’t give a shit about the money this club gets or saves. The only way to do that is to have a home-grown core. Until they have that, any FAs they sign are only place holders.I only disagree to the extent that overpaying players and going above the thresholds, that will of course limit spending to make the team better if the Luxury Tax is eating into these profits from those ventures. Agreed. That's why we sell. Get prospects. The only way to do that is to have a home-grown core. Until they have that, any FAs they sign are only place holders.
And Chappy, with his 4.2 WAR this year, could fetch a very nice return. He is having a monster season. This is something I think we can all agree on.Agreed. That's why we sell. Get prospects.
