Here's a list of all the trade ups during schneiders tenure

Shark youll see we traded up for your favorite LB Cody barton.

Not one trade up in round one or for a QB

In fairness there was a lot of talk that he was looking to trade up to get Mahomes and kicked the tires on making a move for Josh Allen.

Of course that could all be BS disinformation.

My gut says trading up in round one is too expensive and his MO is trading firsts for established players instead.
That hasn't worked out well

Yeah. Trading for established players has not worked out well for us. At least when it comes to 1st round picks. The Williams and Duane Brown trades involved 2nd round picks and both were very good trades.

Interesting read on mccarthy

Would i trade #18 for him? If our outcome is going to be a WR or TE at 18 then hell yes ill trade that pick for mccarthy.

They have to make a big move for a QB, that could mean start Howell and look to get a high pick or trade for one but a big move has to be made

It's certainly a risk but if you think this team should be taking shots for a franchise QB, this seems like an easy choice

I would imagine that Macdonald would have a pretty good feel for whether McCarthy is worth making a move for given he was at Michigan when McCarthy was.
That’s a fair point. If he does make a move for him it probably means that he believes in him.

It definitely has not worked out for position players outside Marshawn Lynch… E. Jones has turned out to be a very good trade.

I am on board with trying to negotiate for a JJ McCarthy trade. But my fear is that there will be four or five other teams trying to do the same so It will drive up the price. That is If the Vikings are willing to trade him. The Vikings know that they are in a great situation so I’m sure they will entertain and listen to offers. But they also know that they were sold on JJ, which is why they drafted him to be their future quarterback and they’re not gonna let him go for a second, and the fourth in my opinion is going to be a first and other pics in my opinion.

Something is off with this guy, been on three teams in one season and now will leave. He could be on 4 different teams in a calendar year

I think Viking will listen to offers(why not listen) but would have to be blown away to do a trade. Seems like the plan was to ease JJ into the starter position, and didn't expect Darnold to have a career year (nobody did) while JJ got up to speed. Got complicated, first Darnold shines, JJ is out for the season. Still feel they plan for JJ to be QB of the future, just delayed a bit.

I don't really care about the knee injury. Lots and lots of players, that require their knees to do a lot more, get knee surgery.

Colin Cowherd suggested a 2nd and a 4th for McCarthy. I think if the Seahawks could have offered a 2nd and a 4th for him before the season they would have done it. So I think that would be worth the trade.

Now I doubt that the Vikings would do that trade and I have no idea if the Vikings have interest in trading McCarthy. I would imagine it would require at least a 1st to get McCarthy.

It should be noted that the Vikings a 1 first and 2 5th round picks for next season. So they are in need of some draft capital. So it is possible that they would look to regain some draft capital for that draft and McCarthy would be a good way to get that done. So it is possible that they would prefer something like a 2nd, 4tn and 6th.

Of course there is risk involved in trading for McCarthy but the same is true with any QB prospect.
Yes knee injuries do matter
I don't care what Cowherd thinks
I asked you what the Seahawks should give up on a banged up QB.

Here is Dan Jeremiah talking about this season. He basically lays it at the feet of the IOL. says that Geno is responsible for about half of his picks...

I don't have a problem with about half and that would sound about right.

Sam Darnold DID NOT help himself today. If he flops in the playoffs I think more teams look the other direction and his price drops steeply.

Geno's game today is what i wish Geno would always be. Yes he threw one that should have been picked but he ended up with only 27 pass attempts. Keep geno around 30 attempts or lower and you are doing your team a HUGE favor. 8-2 in games he threw 32 times or less. 1-5 in games he threw 34 or more times.

It's about the pressure. Both of those QBs will play well when they have adequate protection. Neither are good enough to just Mahomes it though if dudes are in their face on every drop back. Even Mahomes hasn't done that as well this year.

And yeah, you have to throw the ball more when you're losing and you can run it more when you're ahead. A tale as old as time.

Seattle is just getting frustrating to watch. Shut down the Bears defensively and the offense is basically inept and looks horrible the whole game. Then the offense plays well against a Rams D playing a number of starters, but then shits the bed defensively allowing 400+ yards to backup offensive players.

Whatever. That's been my view of Seattle for most of this season. Whatever. Look promising in one moment, then wonder why someone is still on the team the next.
