Firing Grubb was a mistake and bringing in another won't matter if the o-line doesn't get reworked and Geno regresses another year.
I'm sure everyone in the Seahawks organization knows the OL needs to be addressed.
What? You think the Seahawks organization is unaware that the OL needs addressing? I think what you mean is they are aware but won't be able to figure out how to fix it. Well we are going to find out. Pretty sure heads are on the line to get it done or else.do we have proof of that?
I can see schneider convincing himself that the OL is perfectly fine because grubb was a bad OC and IOL are overpaid and overdrafted. What? Isn't he pretty much on record saying he thinks O-line is overvalued and he isn't willing to pay what a top guard goes for at that position? Not quoting exactly obviously but he's said something along those lines, and his actions back it up. It's been the same issue for years. It's some weird mix of he knows it's a problem, but isn't willing to address it.I can see schneider convincing himself that the OL is perfectly fine because grubb was a bad OC and IOL are overpaid and overdrafted.
I mean, it was a little better than last year, and more fun to watch when it was working. The defense was also a little improved but inconsistent, they ended the year giving up 25 points and 400 yards to a Jimmy Garoppolo led scrub offense, for fucks sake. How long does Macdonald get to meet his own standard?I wouldn't say it was a mistake and i do think they did it because of how this offense looked this season. They might have been fine with a ( LMAO ) Sub 22 PPG season if they saw growth or any resemblence of a NFL quality scheme. It looked WAY to much like a college team out there. The play calling the line-ups formations and routes. It looked like a scheme drew up where it was " my guys are better than yours" Not a " I will scheme it up to beat your guys" if you get my meaning. In college teams can lean on their strengths more as the talent level differences there can be absolutely HUGE! Can't do that in the NFL and he had all season to change it up but he didnt do it. Grubb wasn't ready for the NFL yet and now he knows he has to change it up if he ever wants to be more than a OC in college.
I wasnt all that excited in the Grubb hiring i didnt think he was NFL ready and i never liked the look of the Washington Huskies offense. I thought it relied to much on big plays and their running game with talented runners was always like a after thought. Not shocked thats how it looked here. I mean COME ON! he would put Geno under center and 90% of the time it was a run! talk about showing your hand.
I'm well aware of JS record of failing to build a good OL. I just feel that this off season his job is on the line and the criticism impossible to ignore. So I expect JS will try to save his job by making several moves to improve the OL. I fully expect him to be fired if he fails to get it done and in that case good riddance.I mean, it was a little better than last year, and more fun to watch when it was working. If you didn't like the Washington offense with Grubb, nothing is going to please you... The 'talented' runners (objectively their least talented group on offense) were leaned on heavily when appropriate.
Regarding creativity in the run game with the Hawks, that's pretty much impossible when your o-line gets blown up every play. His guys weren't "better than yours," is the whole point.
Now we get to start over, again, and go through a whole new round of blame the OC because the GM refuses to try to fix the same old problems you've had for at least 7 years.

Those are all valid points. Who's on your list of OC?I wouldn't say it was a mistake and i do think they did it because of how this offense looked this season.
