This franchise is broken right now, the split with Wilson and Pete has put us completely in rebuild mode. I want to see more time from the young guys and that includes Howell. The Seahawks are not a playoff team and to be honest i would be shocked If they can finish better than 1-5 or 2-4 in the NFC West. Not only that we are looking at a losing record at home, time to play the young guys. The Seahawks are 0-2 ( out of 6 ) in the Division, 2-4 at home ( With only 3 more home games for the rest of the season ) and 1-4 in the conference. Unless something DRASTICLY Changes there is no chance they sniff the playoffs. We all know that the 3-0 start was great timing facing the teams we did face with the QB's they had playing. We knew it and under stood it and even being 3-0 not many of us were "sold" thats who we are. Like it or not that lucky start has slowed down any changes that needed to be made.

The Move that JS just made releasing Dodson is a head scratcher. It's the type of move that makes me think its a " Hey we know it looks bad so we will do something" Type moment, you get what I mean?

Rebuild mode? Yeah sure and obviously some (most) of the additions are not what we were hoping for. However I'm for trying to fix issues when they arise. The linebackers they signed were not working in the run defense (not sure but think you noted that, but maybe it was someone else) and Knight strength is run defense but his pass coverage needed work. 49ers are going to be targeting him next game. I expect the staff been working to help him improve in that regard, have to see how that goes. I hear Haynes hasn't gotten more work is because of his lack of power according to Grubb when asked outright. Seahawks have considered moving Connor Williams to guard (according to Macdonald) but that would mean moving someone else to center mid season which isn't ideal. That likely will be the next move if needed. This is a work in progress and I hope we see some improvement come out of some of the changes taking place. One thing I like is that the coaching staff answers tough questions when talking with the media.

We didn't have a lot of cap space to make big moves on the OL and LB. JS tried to get some discount players to fill roles. Baker and Dodson clearly did not work out. Tomlinson hasn't really either. Williams seems like the only good FA signing we made this offseason.

I'm glad that they moved on quickly from Baker and Dodson rather than pretending that everything was fine. But we really need something to fix those spots.

Waldron barely made it over half the season in Chicago.

Proved out what we saw from him here in Seattle... He can script out his plays just fine but his in game adjustments were horrible... Same thing happened in Chicago... His firing came as no surprise... In fact, i was surprised Chicago gave him a job to start the season...

Holy crap. What now? I don't see how the coaching staff can make this work with the state of the OL.

I kinda thought Williams had been a disappointment this season and I guess it’s time to see what we have in Olu

Soft
happens when you play at UT and then drafted by Dallas. Entitlement to Super Entitlement equates to selfish SOB.

IDK, even without the inconsistent snapping issues, Williams is the most penalized center in the league and overall has probably been a bottom five overall for the year. The only player worse than Williams on our line this season has been Bradford. Might as well see what we have in Olu,

PFF had him ranked as the 18th center, for whatever that is worth. Might as well see what they have in Olu, bit concerning that neither Pete's staff not Macdonalds staff felt he was ready for the job. Signing your starting center late August off of FA left overs wasn't a good sign for the OL.

The claims that Macdonald has "lost the locker room" are humorous to me. The LBs were not playing well, we made a trade for an upgrade on the inside, then moved on from the 2 guys who were not cutting it. And it appears Conor Williams may have some personal stuff going on that has put and end to playing career. Not sure how that has anything to do with Macdonald. If the first 3 games of the season were instead the most recent 3, we would hear about how the rookie coach has totally turned things around after a rough start, but of course we would be 4-5 either way. As it is, he's "lost the locker room" according to some (who I suspect have never once seen the inside of the locker room). Funny.

But speaking of Conor Williams retiring and our OL woes, I heard yesterday on 710 that we are right around 8 yards on average to make the line to gain on 3rd down, worst in the league. I think that's directly related to how poor the line play has been in addition to the high volume of unforced errors on early downs. I know there will undoubtedly people who want to blame Geno for what the offense isn't doing, but I thought Nick Saban made a great point this morning on college gameday when he said QB is the toughest position to play well in any sport when the other people around you are not playing well. Our line sucks, and it's killing the season.
