Giants rumored to be in talks with the Cards for a "middle infielder"

My guess is Edman. Plays everywhere, average bat, solid defender. Good backup plan for Lucy. Gotta figure VR is part of that trade.

Bart + VR for Edman?

That would be a nice haul for the Cards. But both of those guys are kinda treading water here. Might as well turn them in to SOMETHING.

Players report in only a few weeks. We better get this roster closer to being ready

Most teams are in this same situation, tbf. Boras has monopolized the FA game and is playing chicken with most of his clients against the teams.

His greed has ruined baseball salaries. Now it costs a fortune to go to a game.
And yet, typically, attendance has not nose-dived. Therefore, the market could sustain the increased prices.

While I see your frustration ... it is also very misplaced. You may not like Biras but he is the BEST at what he does. His job is to get the maximum return for his clients talent offering. He is in fact an investment banker for sports personnel. Each of these players clearly knows what thier value is on the market. Each ownership group also knows what their value is. It's Boras job to maximize the return for each of investors.

As long as team managemwnt is willing to pay the asking price ... you can't really say that Boras has destroyed baseball salaries .... if anything .... it's a combination of the player and team ownership that is at the core of your particular issue. Both the player and ownership know what the cost will be .... Boras just facilitates the process ..

Brother is young. He just needs some real world experience and he will learn the error of that mindset in time.

The Giants have re-signed veteran reliever Cody Stashak to a minor league contract. He has a 4.13 ERA, 2.98 FIP, 10.4 K/9, and a 5.93 SO/W ratio in parts of 4 seasons with the Twins.

and y'all say FZ never does nuttin...

Roster..... Smosther......

Is there any player on this team who's remotely exciting to watch?

Webbie sure, but exciting in a Cain sort of way. Not exactly gonna drive jersey sales.

Duval, yep. But not exactly the personality of a Romo, Wilson, or Rod Beck

It's one thing to be middle of the pack, but even worse to be boring. Really hard to recall a less memorable group

FO need to give the fans something. A competitive roster.... a roster of future hope.... some personalities

Hope I'm wrong, but just don't see it
