Most likely involves a third team taking a smaller salary on to make it happen

If it happens before Monday, last year's trade rules apply. I think we could see a few trades happen to take advantage of that grace period before the new league year brings in the rest of the new CBA rules. Last year's salaries too. If the Lakers are going to trade for Murray, that could save them $7M in salary to include in the trade for instance. Unfortunately, I think player option rules still hold (can't trade DLo until he makes a decision on his option).

Idk how they can do it without cp3 or klay

And they need to drop them to be able to aggregate salaries

Is the salary aggregation piece new for the 24/25 league year? If so, they can do the trade before Monday and get it in under the line.

Need to know the price. I'd be interested up to a point. But I've never liked him much as a player. He's an empty calorie stat guy imo and his contract is gross given his actual impact.

The idea is if he's no longer "the guy", he can return to his 3&D role. Contract is still a bit much (and long with an unfortunate player option at the end), but if he's taking the SF role, that probably means some combo of Rui/Vando. Maybe the contract lessens the draft pick cost (or at least brings protections into play)?

A head coach with a backbone seems like a good thing to me.
He can communicate the same message without using the F word. It’s actually him overcompensating for what he lacks.

My guess is his bloated contract is bringing down his trade value.

Rui, 1st and salary filler? Not sure that is even worth it for LA honestly. They are better off going after Murray giving up another pick

I believe his contract declines each year so that will help drop his % of the cap

We’re at the point in the cap when role players get 30m per

With today's rules Shaq is out.

Depends if Joel is healthy or not. But probably the Warriors.
I struggle with that group because I don't think Embiid and Green work together. Worse fit for defense than it is offense.

Some deep insight here. Opinion allowed on a picture designed for discussion? Crazy thought, but it might work.

I'm just not at all in the mood for snarky today. I happen to disagree with your take I feel that's evident but that doesn't mean anything other than that.

My first comment was not snarky, it was building on the discussion. You could have also have not replied and that would have stopped the discussion. Hope you have a better day.

Yeah, but he's 30 with 4 years left. It's not a deal breaker, but brings a bit of pause.

His contract doesn't decline each year, but his cap% does (to be expected with the cap increases incoming).

Meh. I think you're reading too much into it. Or, you're feeding your agenda?
I loved JJ. My daughter is a basketball fan because of JJ. There are 4 JJ jerseys in my house. You had zero fucks to give about JJ. He takes a job and now you’ll lick his balls and let him bukkake on your face because he’s the Lakers head coach.

But I’m the guy with the agenda. Meanwhile, I say the same thing about Nick Sirianni when he toots an F bomb at a press conference. It’s just unprofessional. You’re not a player. You’re not Joe Schmo off the street.
