One team winning the championship doesn't mean the rest of the conference was good. A lot of those East teams SUUUUUUCKED. This isn't even a personal opinion. Its a widely accepted fact that the Eastern Conference was the weaker conference

It happens like that sometimes. During the Showtime era, folks used to talk about the easier path the Lakers had coming out of the West than the Celtics or Sixers did coming out of the East...which was true. The West was weaker for most of that era.
