I wonder if Brunson took less....because the Knicks plan on trading for Mark? And allegedly Bridges now.

He would be a nice stretch 5 to trot out there.

They've already established that he will spend a lot of time in South Bay.

We'll see what he likes in the G League. He's currently not better than some of the guards on last year's roster.

Exactly.

They had the cash but still silly to use him off the bench. Even as a super sub 6th man.

The cash this year, sure. Extensions are looming. Shai, Jaylin and Caruso are extension eligible now. Chet, Jalen and Dieng are eligible next season. Hartenstein, Joe, and Cason the year following.

If all they wanted was a reserve big for certain matchups, there were cheaper options (like the Lakers should've been targeting), someone making less than $20M per. Hartenstein is a very good player, but $29M for an option in the rotation is really pricey.

They don't have the draft ammo to trade for Markkanen.

I just think it’s going to really free up Chet to really be Chet.
Will not be surprised at all if Chet really put together a line of 20ppg, 9rpg, 4apg with shooting numbers of 50-51%, 39-40%, and 82-83%.

His block numbers are going up with Hartenstein there so he can come from off the ball even more.

I don't know if his rebounds will increase with Hartenstein playing major minutes, but the others are reachable minor improvements.

I thought they had a lot of picks.

Did most of them go to Nets for Bridges?
In theory, they have like 2-3 firsts they can deal. The problem is that they’re picks of teams that have protections and are likely to be lottery teams so they have a tiny chance of conveying and will likely convert to 2nd round picks.

To Mecca's and others' point. Brony and LeBron will be a major draw to games and the Lakers will increase profits because of it. Even in the G-League, Brony garner's more attention than Dalton Knecht who had another good game in scoring 19 points. Kid can shoot and he plays decent D.

Apparently Brony has been spending too much time with Russell Westbrook in shooting and airballin' threes (joke). A couple more airballs to add to Brony's growing repertoire of missed threes in the G-league. *Chuckles.*

This is why I think he ends up being top 5 in minutes for OKC. I don’t care who starts or who comes off the bench. It’s about the main 5. I think you get the best D in groups with Hartenstein. He’s an underrated play maker from the foul line and the elbow. He is money with a tough unblockable shot from 8 feet in. The biggest thing he does is hide Chet vs physical 5s and lets a natural shot blocker come from off ball to rim protect. That allows Hartenstein to worry about defensive rebounding.

In my opinion, Hartenstein is the answer for what they found in self assessment from the playoffs.

I think Chet and Hartenstein will get their rebounds but other players may see a decrease in there rpg.

Chet will see minutes at C when Hartenstein is off the floor.

Not to mention, rebounding was a need. The Thunder only averaged 42rpg. Only Indy, Wash, and Charlotte averaged fewer.

And from everything being said they think he can shoot the 3.

I love the Knecht pick more and more, even though SL does not mean much.

Both he and Bronny have a lot of pressure on them but they play very composed and not out of control.

Yep, forgot to include those....he might push Wemby for leading the League in those.
I don’t know how much anybody is going to push Wemby in anything but that sounds good to me
