He will end up starting against some teams, or in effect starting with the minutes he is playing. They are absolutely planning on a lot of minutes with both he and Chet on the floor.
I think they will be a great fit.

Isiah’s passing ability is gonna be a huge asset….imo

And when you already have all the money you will ever need
Wonder if that’s why he looks….

I don’t want to say unmotivated.

But, he has a real lack of aggression most times.

I just think it’s going to really free up Chet to really be Chet.

At the start of the Season, he will be with the Varsity club.

Like it or not, the first pro father and son duo to play a real NBA game together will put asses in the seats, eyes on the the screen.

Add in the fact that it’s Lebron, and it’s ratings and marketing GOLD.

The Bronny jerseys will be flying off the shelves.

Everyone knows this kid is not a pro level player.

Doesn’t mean he can’t grow into one in a few years.

Again: see Gary Payton Jr.

I feel really bad for this kid and hope his mental health stays solid.

He didn’t ask for all this fuckery, his dad did.

Yeah, I can see that happening. It wouldn't be deserved though, which is all I've been saying. Maybe he can grow into someone who can contribute at some point, but right now he's really far away.

That trade is looking less terrible every year. That is obviously pending what Ainge does with the picks. His trade with the Cavs looks liker a bigger win for him at this point.

Even if he does turn the late picks into gold it is not terrible for the Wolves. They would not have had the same stockpile to turn it into anything. I hated the trade early, but turned out solid for wolves. Even better if you count part 2 where they got Conley and NAW for Russell.
There are two layers to this:
1) Gobert the player and the fit - this is where the way the trade looks has changed dramatically
2) The value of the deal - it’s still a massive overpay. This hasn’t changed.

I presume that the present tolerated level of nepotism by the Lakers is mostly to appease LeBron but I suspect that it will vanish in two years when Lebron is done in similar fashion but for different reasons as the nepotism the Lakers endured with Lonzo Ball and his magnanimous. loud-mothed father.

Teams hire assistant coaches, create positions for family and friends of current players, future players they want to attract all the time.

The Clippers actually fired Bruce Bowen in an effort to recruit Kawhi.

Unfortunately, that tactic worked for the Clippers.

It worked for the Knicks with hiring Brunson’s father.

The 76ers hired Ben Simmons sister before his draft.

Knicks signed Jr Smith’s trash brother to a contract.

Suns signed Dragic brother.

The Antentakumpos….

I could go on.

But I think you get the picture.

The Lakers wanted Lebron to sign another deal.

They couldn’t give him a roster upgrade.

So, they gave him his son.

Deserve is not a contributing factor in any of those situations listed above either.

Win or lose, Bron is making the Buss family very, very wealthy.

Well….wealthier.

When that relationship stops being mutually beneficial, bye bye Bronny.

OKC could afford the price and still be flushed with picks.

But I’m already having a hard time believing they are paying Hartenstein 30 mil per to come off the bench.

Adding Laurie puts that rumor in permanent marker, instead of pencil.
Hartenstein will start.

That was the first option I listed. His value still drops a lot at that point. Right now he is an All Star making 18. After extension he is an All Star at likely 35. He loses value once he is extended.

I disagree. At that point, he is locked up for multiple seasons. Trading for him now or later, that extension is coming quickly.

I should have clarified, I can't imagine him playing on the Lakers unless it's just to play with Lebron. He just doesn't deserve it, based on his performance, to even play over the guys in the G League at this point, at least that were on last year's roster.

They've already established that he will spend a lot of time in South Bay.

As Woj said a while back.

Neopitism exists all around the League, especially in the FO of a lot of teams.

Know? Nope. But, pretty confident he will.

Because, like you said.....it will allow Chet to be Chet.
Yeah I don’t think he will right away but his minutes are going to vary greatly with who they are playing. Daigneault going to have so many options now.

Paying $29M per for a bench big is ridiculous. If he's not starting, they got the wrong guy.

Exactly.

They had the cash but still silly to use him off the bench. Even as a super sub 6th man.
