This is why I think he ends up being top 5 in minutes for OKC. I don’t care who starts or who comes off the bench. It’s about the main 5. I think you get the best D in groups with Hartenstein. He’s an underrated play maker from the foul line and the elbow. He is money with a tough unblockable shot from 8 feet in. The biggest thing he does is hide Chet vs physical 5s and lets a natural shot blocker come from off ball to rim protect. That allows Hartenstein to worry about defensive rebounding.

In my opinion, Hartenstein is the answer for what they found in self assessment from the playoffs.
And quite honestly I don’t think there really was any self assessment after the playoffs. Presti didn’t learn anything he didn’t know. He is just so methodical if he has a plan he sticks with it.

And from everything being said they think he can shoot the 3.
That would be a bonus is the way you have to look at that. I’m not seeing it. He’s a 69-70% FT shooter for his career. That’s not bad but it doesn’t scream untapped range from 3. I think he can maybe get himself to 33/34% and if you leave em alone he takes the shot. That’s maybe 1-1.5 per game tops. I guess what I’m saying is that you haven’t lucked into Brook Lopez or anything.

What they learned is that while rebounding isn’t the end all be all for their group, if they can reduce the gap with which they lose the rebounding battle they have a better chance of winning tight ball games vs better teams.

Hartenstein will start.
With Hartenstein coming off the bench for the Thunder in most matchups this elongates the Thunder's frontcourt depth, specifically at the center spot which goes from a shortlist to a rolodex of Chet Holmgren, Jaylin Williams, Kenrich Williams and Hartenstein - giving Oklahoma City to roll out a massive lineup.

Yeah that talk is fueled by him going 14-30 from 3 one year for the Clips

Well PrestI certainly knew that, that’s why he had acquired the Heyward expiring contract to address it.

Paying $29M per for a bench big is ridiculous. If he's not starting, they got the wrong guy.

Exactly.

They had the cash but still silly to use him off the bench. Even as a super sub 6th man.
“We don’t know what we’ll look like,” Holmgren said in an interview with NBA TV. “We’re gonna figure out how to be the best version of ourselves for sure.”

The 22-year-old kept his excitement hidden but paired up with Hartenstein is the perfect fit for the two centers. The Thunder fortified a weakness and now have one of the best backup centers in the league

We shall see.

I bet they have Hartenstein starting some too.....he will not be the backup in all 82 games.

Did you hear y’all are looking at Crowder?

I secretly was hoping the Clips could get him, Covington or Hayward for the vet minimum.
No I hadn’t heard that, I guess Hartenstein wouldn’t have to be the enforcer lol

Daigneault loves to play with lineups, he will figure it out
The Caruso and Hart (abbreviated) additions were a stroke of sheer fucking brilliance.

Presti getting exec of the year if all goes according to plan.

Who said he would?

It’s a matchup thing.

Regardless of his price tag, they’ve tabbed him for a Montrezl, Lou Will, Manu type super sub role.

He might not start.

But he will finish.

You guys forget that although he’s the better player, Robinson started over Hart until he got injured.

OKC in the market for a 34-year-old forward?

The age might be an instant turn-off for a lot of fans, given the glistening young talent on the roster. But hey, age is just a number, right? According to The Oklahoman's Justin Martinez, free agent journeyman Jae Crowder is a player to watch out for.

The 6-6, 34-year-old forward averaged 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 50 games for Milwaukee this past season. He's a veteran player who provides a defensive presence and has a respectable career 3-point percentage of 34.8%.

"Availability is a concern for Crowder, who has only played in more 60 games in a season once since the 2018-19 campaign. But he has 115 playoff appearances under his belt, which is just six games shy of tying OKC's entire returning roster (121).

Does it feel dirty dancing on a kids grave?

His dad asked for this, not him.

With that being said, he is not a pro level prospect.

He just isn’t.
Shooting and scoring wise, no.

He can play defense, rebound, pass and do the intangibles.

However, most are focusing just on offense and it's clear the kid is pressing.
