Cowboys restructured the contract of DE DeMarcus Lawrence, opening up $8.89 million in room.

Holy crap. Jerry got his ass embarrassed into going all in After years of doing crap. We are NOT done. Also probably an extension coming. I guess Diggs. Stephen‘s head is going to explode

$17M in cap space

Not sure he's cheaper.

Make no mistake, we need skill at the skill positions.

West Coast Offense = yards after catch
And whether or not we think Schultz is worth resigning his leaving (if he leaves) absolutely leaves our receiving corps weaker. All a Cooks type does is bring us back to around where we were. I guess a healthier Gallup helps too.

Schultz would be a target lose, no question, but TE for this draft is a plus group. Our two last year flashed abilities. Really just guessing what McCarthy's WC offensive with Dak will be.

Has McCarthy said he is going WC offense? Or this an assumption by us because who he was?

I love the two kids and their versatility but I see them as more gritty and sneaky than pure volume receiving options. If we add a WR they’ll be great. If we don’t, I worry we won’t have the pure receiving talent we may need.

Looks like the $17M doesn’t count the Smith restructure if I’m looking at it correctly. So maybe mid $20M’s after it’s included?

I wonder if they might have answers on the roster with the scheme change. Turpin and Fehoko have big speed, Tolbert is a big target

I'm thinking we get younger at RB & WR with early draft capital. I also would add a vet at each position group too. I hope a guy like the kid from S. Florida fits this new offense better and flashes what got him drafted where drafted last year. I think guys that catch the ball while running could be a big change from the old offense.

for all of you hoping for D-Hop. Got some possible good news for ya.
Just rumors of course, but according to this sounds like he wants to be a Cowboy.

I'm not so sure it's that cut and dried. There is no reason to re-sign CeeDee this year. He has a 5th year option and then when he is ultimately re-signed he will have a backloaded, low $ first year of his contract. So his big money won't hit our cap until Hopkins (or whomever) is likely gone
I like this thinking. I think you try and win now.

I got Siaki Ika DT Baylor on my radar. Massive. Tempting at 26. He stops the run.

Now up to $26.5M in cap space after the Tyron restructure. Then we get another $11M in cap space after 6/1 when Zeke's salary goes off.

I would be very surprised if the Cowboys don't add an vet reciever in FA or Trade soon. They got only Cee Dee and Gallup. McCarthy usually had three good recievers in green Bay and used fewer tight ends.

Also the defenses in Green Bay always seemed to have a 340 pound NT.

Could Dallas do Wagner and Hopkins for the other 5th?
LOL
I’ll donate a 5th to sweeten the pot and throw in a 5th of Colors home brew white lighting as a kicker to Jerry. Bubbles say it’s about 75 proof and smooth as silk in small quantities
Jerry will kick that Johnny walker blue to the curb

;)

I wonder what TB wants in return for Chris Godwin. He's crazy cheap this year, but balloons next year. If we are kicking tires for a WR trade, he'd be a guy I'd target. Have to figure out a way to lower that cap hit next year but we have cap gurus that fix numbers all the time. I'd be willing to deal away a 3rd or a 3rd and a future pick if he attains high level production in 2023.

Looks like Giants stockpiling average WRs. Didn’t learn their lesson last year
