Didn't know about Weidl's history. Glad to see they have another rooted guy in the building. And he has a pretty incredible track record to boot. Everywhere he has been has won a superbowl.

That Eagles FO is getting pillaged... That's the 5th FO staff member that they have lost THIS OFFSEASON, 4 of which were execs that are leaving to take assistant GM jobs.

Ian Cunningham, Director of Player Personnel, went to the Bears
Brandon Brown, Director of Player Personnel, went to the Giants
Catherine Raiche, VP of Football Ops, went to the Browns
Andy Weidl, VP of Player Personnel, went to the Steelers

They also lost Andrew Berry in 2020 & Joe Douglas in 2019 to GM roles.

• Najee looks twice as quick this year & beefed up.
• Kendrick Green & Kevin Dotson are going to battle for LG. That’s good. Dotson needs a fire under him.
• Speaking of Green… Dude bulked up. TJ Watt noticed & spoke on it.
• Diontae Johnson is absent… voluntary but not surprised given the contract situation.
• Pickens looks fantastic.
• Trubisky started OTAs as the starter. Kenny & Mason rotating behind him.

I was actually rooting for Weidl to get the job. Seems weird to me that Kahn, with no background in scouting, is going to be calling the shots? I've gotta think this means more Tomlin in personnel decisions and I don't love that. I mean, what is Kahn then? An accountant who happens to run the company?

I think it does funnel more responsibility down to Tomlin, which is what he always wanted. But I also think there's more to Kahn than meets the eye. There's no way you work that closely with Colbert for 2 decades and not have a hand in the scouting pile. Who gives a shit about his job titles... I mean, unless you're in the medical field or government, practically everybody works outside of their primary job responsibilities.

But even if Khan's promotion to GM is just a false-front of sorts... I don't expect anything to change with the way they operate within the FO. Tomlin has long since been theorized as the decision-maker and there is plenty of evidence to support that.

I love the Weidl hire. And I hope he helps bridge some gaps after Brandon Hunt's departure.
