I'm really hoping Mathieu signs this week so that Steelers Twitter can STFU about him finally
Exactly it is getting bad.

On a similar topic from this article, Edmunds is most likely the only one returning. For that matter worth bringing back. I would have included Haden but they went a different route already to fix that need.

With CBs like Gilmore, Callahan, Peterson, Williams, King, etc still available... Haden will probably have to wait until the summer to sign a deal.

I'd be fine with bringing Edmunds back. He'd be cheap and he's still young.

He's a good starting SS. He was just overdrafted, which isn't his fault.

Is it wrong that I wish they put red squares on these to make them look more like Toad from Mario?

If for them, why not RBs too?

They do a lot of leading with the helmet.

And why only till the second pre season game?
Well, this is all just stupid window dressing.
Doesn't address any issues that actually cause brain injuries. They can't magically counteract inertia.

Give it time... I'm sure its optional for them right now. Maybe the lineman is a test run.

Inertia can't be stopped, but energy can be dissipated slower to reduce impact...

I still think its window dressing though since I doubt these pad helmets do enough to dissipate the normal tackling impacts. But maybe they make a good difference for the smaller head bashing in the trenches that occurs on a much larger & more repetitive scale. .

Hot damn now that's a mock draft! How the hell were both Davis & Green available?

Only change I'd make is drafting a S/DB somewhere... If they don't resign Edmunds

To disspiate energy / slow down the impact, you need space. A shallow, inch thick, padding over a helmet is going to do fuck-all to reduce inertia.

Unless we are going to Fat Heads, this isn't getting solved.

Lol. Sometimes that mock draft simulator lets some weird shit happen. Pickett, Davis, and Green all available at the pick.

I wanted S/DB but just couldn't find a fit. Couple of times I had my eye on a guy and waited a round too long.

Did one to see what it would look like if we stayed put and took a QB at 20. Pickett and WIllis were both off the board.

  • Matt Corral
    QB Mississippi

  • 52.
    Christian Watson
    WR North Dakota State

  • 84.
    Phidarian Mathis
    DT Alabama

  • 138.
    Rasheed Walker
    OT Penn State

  • 208.
    Josh Jobe
    CB Alabama

  • 225.
    Tycen Anderson
    S Toledo

  • 241.
    Jeremiah Gemmel
    LB North Carolina

This looks a lot more accurate, sadly.
