Taylor Gabriel's best year was 688 receiving yards.

He hasn't played in 2 years. He did really well for an UDFA, but he can stay where he is.

Well, there's not a whole lot to pick from out there. OBJ, Landry, MVS, Beasley etc. Landry would fit, maybe, but I think he would cost about the same as JuJu and I don't know why they wouldn't have just paid JuJu (unless that wasn't their decision). MVS is interesting.

I think with Gabriel if healthy and if willing to come in cheap he won’t be much different than the bottom of the group they have.

If I remember correctly in Atlanta he was their 3wr and that one good year was when he clicked with Mitchell.

BTW.

Someone kick me in my fanoy bag. I have an undercurrent of homer excitement telling myself "Trubisky was the #2 overall pick... Chicago fucked up and he's going to light shit up here". I know it's irrational. I know I know better.

Someone stop me from living in Mitchburgh. it's embarrassing.

Sheeit man... Anything to make the offseason more enjoyable, I say do it. We're only a year removed from some of us being on the Haskins train... (Haskburgh?)... And many of us were drinking the Mason koolaid back in 2019

I don't care that he was a UDFA, nor do I care how many yards he accumulated... His tape shows an elite ball tracker downfield. Its a small sample size, but its worth the interest. And as you said, he's no different than the bottom of the group they currently have (Miller, Sims, Olszewski, White, Vaughn, Bussey).

FWIW... Gabriel is a comparable athlete to Anthony Miller. Who also has prior experience with Mitch. And Steelers Nation seems to think we will see a re-emergence from Miller with Mitch in town.

Not that this isn't any more speculation vs what we say/read:

Seriously if they are looking at Kazee, who didn't play in Dallas. I would rather just bring back Edmunds at this point.

Honestly I think thats been the plan since February... Wait to see how Edmunds' market trends through the offseason. I'm betting they are in contact with his agent and telling them they are interested in matching any offers he receives.

I'm not expecting anything big to happen with Matheiu. Would be awesome to see, but very doubtful. They don't want to tie up that much money in their safeties, especially when they KNOW they will want to pay Minkah.

Don’t know if the Steelers have even been confirmed as making an offer yet?

Interesting… Didn’t think he had been around at all. This is a great sign. Still curious why he sold his house though

So uh… the Witherspoon signing hasn’t been made official yet.

I pray that it is only because he doesn’t live or train in Pgh … Just because he has agreed doesn’t mean he can’t rescind his agreement like Zedarius Smith just did to Baltimore.

Unnn if he wants that much whoever pays him can have him.
Clearly he doesn't want to go to a contender. But seeing guys like Christian Kirk & Kenny Golladay making $18m per, as well as all these new WR contracts blowing the lid off the market makes it hard to settle... Landry turning 30 this year makes this his likely final maximized deal. Might as well set the bar high, right?

I just don't see how Landry gets something like that. He's closer to a $12-16m per year type player.

I agree he should be in that range and why not try and get what those others made. Unfortunately for him the last two years and those costly drops recently are hurting his chance at the higher value.

I guess if he wants to make a ton of money playing for the Jets the next 2-3 years why not? :)

I'm really hoping Mathieu signs this week so that Steelers Twitter can STFU about him finally
