Damn, looks like the removal of the one and done came to late for Emoni Bates.

He really needs to sign with Klutch and get a paid internship to try on shoes like Darius Bazley.

He is fucking up his life and someone needs to intervene.

Arrest on Gun charges and suspension....no bueno.

He was just overhyped

He’s a neutral wingspan so he doesn’t have much of a size advantage

He wants to be a pg and that fared poorly

Remember it was Emoni or Chet, who'd you rather?

Christ...the collapse.

I still think he has a chance.

But, he clearly needs guidance and to leave his hometown.

Folks can say what they want about Lebron.

He was on the cover of magazines, playing on ESPN in High School.

Never got caught rolling dirty with guns with missing serial numbers.

This kid is spiraling.

He just was a kid who peaked early.

He’s not like a freak like everyone thought he was

He’s big and an above average athlete

But without the skills a phenom like that is supposed to have.

Was thinking the same thing re: Lebron.

Any time a story like this comes out, it makes what Lebron did more amazing. Somehow, he was smart enough to get himself some friends he could trust, they all stuck together navigating all of that and they're all successful.

Pretty remarkable.

Pretty remarkable.

His attention got multiple of them into college and noticed.

He also took a loan out against his future earnings, something he couldn’t have done if he was 2 years older. Gave him a huge head start

But it’s also rare. There’s a very small chance all those dominos would fall the same way again if they did it over again

Way too many shady people in this world

Schroder and Bev are pesky defenders so I definitely think they fit what Ham is trying to do.

Not sure about Nunn if he is ready to go.

But despite his physical talents RW isn't. So I don't see him fitting what Ham wants to do....despite what Ham says.

Couple things...

1. Lmao that you would give up two 1st for this. But, some fans are balking at doing the same for Bogdanovic and Beasley.

2. Why do you care about saving the Lakers luxury tax payments?

That 22 mil gets you just below the tax. It's not like you can sign a guy and it doesn't help you for next year.

I guess you could try to use the trade exception you'd receive.

Problem is, you would be giving up both your1st.

So, what are you going to use to get that player?

Ffs, just do the Utah trade....lol

Bogdo is better than McBuckets and Beasley is younger, probably better, than Josh....

Plus, they are guys you could keep if you don't land Krazy Kyrie.

It was just an assumption on the requirement for 2 firsts. Of course the Lakers front office would protest, as they have with all other trade scenarios (and likely should in this case).

I don't know that the Utah trade is on the table, or if it's just another rumored scenario. Last I read, Ainge wanted a first per player.

I think Ham is just saying what he has to say.

Assuming that Westbrook starts the season on the roster, it is already going to be an incredibly uncomfortable situation for everyone, including Westbrook.

Imo, Ham is just doing what he can to try to ease that. I doubt it works, but it sounds better than him saying "I don't know what the hell to do to make this guy fit and neither does anyone else. That's why no one wants him". lol

If it gets bad and he isn't traded.....just tell him to stay home and buy him out closer to trade deadline...

Not ideal but don't want to fuck up the chemistry.

Based on that proposal, he is getting 2 firsts. One in 2025 and one in 2027. It's just that only one is coming from the Lakers.

It does seem like the Lakers should be kicking in something more than just Westbrook and the '27 1st rounder for that return. Seems like they should be at least including a player and/or a 2nd rounder, if not an additional 1st rounder.

It's beyond retarded to think the Jazz would eat Russ contract and give them three solid players for one first rounder.
Didn't Danny say 1 first per player a while back? He could be sticking to that, which narrows the trade and still requires 2 picks (hence no movement).

I have a hard time believing a trade won't happen after bringing in Schroder.

RW, Schroder, Bev and Nunn is a lot of PG's.

Which is why the Rozier deal doesn't make much sense and is likely outdated.

Ultimately, that may be what happens.

I think that if he is on the roster, Ham will try to find a way to fit him in and see if Westbrook will buy in. If it works at least a little bit...it could help them get an in season trade done.

If we see more of what went on last year, they can just tell him to stay home.

My post was in reference to my earlier post re: Spurs, not that old Knicks rumor.

Gotta think someone will want to trade for Westbrook at the deadline to dump salary.
