Fuck taking Conley....we have too many PG's.

You're trading Russ

Nunn isn't a true PG anyway, and it doesn't sound like they see Bev as one either.

With Lebron on the roster, the team needs floor spacers/defenders more than traditional PG depth.

Truthfully, they have 5 if you count Reaves, who is a combo guard essentially (so 4 that can play the position after Russ moves). Dennis is the only pure PG though (and 2-way player Pippen Jr, who would be a 6th option).

Yes. All fair. And all of them but Dennis can fit next to bron but are still more ideally 2s

Conley also is a good defender, which helps

I think Ham is just saying what he has to say.

Assuming that Westbrook starts the season on the roster, it is already going to be an incredibly uncomfortable situation for everyone, including Westbrook.

Imo, Ham is just doing what he can to try to ease that. I doubt it works, but it sounds better than him saying "I don't know what the hell to do to make this guy fit and neither does anyone else. That's why no one wants him". lol
You can't make wine out of sewer water.

But, shouldn't you at least come up with a plan to try to make the shit in the water more palatable?

He has to play the hand he's dealt.

But, no matter the outcome, it won't be his fault.

Yet, he would get 100% of the credit, AS HE SHOULD, for getting them in the playoffs.

Sure, but he's a fading player. He was fading last year, and I would expect that to continue. Not a deal breaker either way, just likely not a first choice.

Yeah. Fair

But if getting a first for eveyone is the priority, this is the easiest way around it

Ultimately, that may be what happens.

I think that if he is on the roster, Ham will try to find a way to fit him in and see if Westbrook will buy in. If it works at least a little bit...it could help them get an in season trade done.

If we see more of what went on last year, they can just tell him to stay home.
He would have to cause a stink about his role.

Other than maybe Rudy (and his salary impact on any deal is minimal anyway), agreed.

Bog Beasley and gay does work iirc

I think it pushes Utah over the tax line so another deal would need to follow

He is.

But, how much of that was due to playing with Donovan?

I know that lack of touches doesn't decline playing with Lebron.

I'd take Conley over Westbrook, Brown Jr, Walker, Christie for next year ONLY because he can hit 40% from 3.

Your Championship window is dependent on Lebron.

Guys not ready to contribute this Season and next are superfluous.

Yep. Another new development after signing Schroder is that the Lakers would need to shed at least one player to stay under 15 in a 3 for 1. Gabriel is easy enough to include or waive, but who is the next one if needed?

Which is in the realm of possibility.

*Sigh*
I'm on record saying you should do Bog, Beas, Conley for Westbrook and Nunn and both picks.

Nunn still isn't going 5 on 5.

Ffs, even Kawhi is further along.

Thin the herd and get players that fit.

Dennis has proven he can work in a 3 guard system.

* See OKC with Paul and SG-A.

But, SG-A is 6'6....no exaggeration @Stakesarehigh !!!

So, Conley, Bev, Dennis is a bit different.

But, Davis, Jones, Bron can mitigate that.

Do the damn deal!!!!

You are a playoff team with this with a punchers chance for more.

You have picks in the next year you just can't trade them yet.

Phoenix can't land Bogdanovic.

That's a problem...lol

Just do Westbrook and Nunn and take back Conley.

Done.

Keep Gabriel and drop Brown.
