It's beyond retarded to think the Jazz would eat Russ contract and give them three solid players for one first rounder.

Sorta. They don't really want solid players though. They want to suck. Competent players on their team decrease their chances for Wembanyama. Jettisoning all their decent role players to field a team of Russ (expiring contract so it doesn't hurt long term) and a bunch of G-leaguers would break 20 wins if they're lucky. Plus, they might buy Russ out at some point anyway, making them even worse. For one first rounder, they might go for it.

But I'd expect them to ask for more.

They can get a future 1st for both Clarkson and Bog in separate deals. Trade all 3 for one 1st + taking back Russ who will could get them more wins is a loss for Ainge. Maybe they would buy him out but I highly doubt it. That’s what Russ does, gets wins for bad teams bc that’s all he knows. But all that for one pick…nah they can do better

Yeah the difference is those would be late protracted firsts.
