I was skeptical of using the 9th pick on him with the questions of character. I’d wait a few years to see if any of that shows up before making that judgment. But no doubt he has been great so far.
Is he LT or Lavar Arrington? Check back in 2024

I would have taken Parsons over Surtain in the draft, but after having seen Surtain this season - I would not trade him for Parsons - even with Parson's great season. Surtain - is just a couple notches below Champ Bailey good right now - with room to grow.

And CB is a higher valued position than LB.

But it might be nice if we had invested in a LB in a day 1/2 of the draft - which we haven’t since Al Wilson.

in general i would agree however in this specific case your LBer is getting sacks and pressuring the QB and wrecking havoc every Sunday so his value is really as a pass rusher. i doubt anyone thought Parson would be this type of pass rusher .

can he keep it up like a Von or Ware. who knows

we do know Dallas wanted Surtain over Parson because as soon as denver selected PS II Dallas traded out of 11

He looks like a baller. Active arm. Can extend plays. Looking forward to seeing more of him.View attachment 285369
What I saw of him impressed me. He was going through progressions and apparently the system he plays in requires a smart QB to be successful. I didn't see enough to gauge how much was him, and how much was his receivers. Some of the throws I saw looked pretty good, but he also tossed a few balls that required (by design) the WR to adjust to for the catch.

I agree with the active arm observation .. Zappe reminds me a little bit of Chase DanieL ... When his receivers don't have 10 yards of separation, he does seem to be able to accurately fit the ball in .. I like him

anyone watching the Houston-Auburn game?
Smoke Monday, DB for Auburn looks legit! 6'3 200
I love this guy, he was a WR in high school and hits like DJ Swearinger when he came out .. Sort of a combination of DJ and Derwin James, if "Smoke" wasn't such a great nickname, he could be Twitch or Immediate Monday

Smoke Monday is a stud even a bigger stud is another Auburn DB. CB- Roger McCreary. Both of these guys rattle my bones (no DB jokes please)

Smoke is a Fangio type all day long. He can blitz, cover the TE, runs well. Very physical player. Reminds me of what we hope Jamar Johnson becomes basically (b/c Johnson has the tools to be like that) Plays very aggressive and can cover deep with good instincts.

Miss State CB Martin Emerson intrigures me a bit. Really good tools but sometimes gives up the deep pass. Would be funny if him and Seth Williams ended up being teammates after the famous footage of Emerson talking smack to Williams last year and then Williams toasting him the very next play for a TD.

with the odds of Jackson not being resigned, would love to get a player like Smoke Monday in our secondary to add with Simmons, Stearns and Johnson.

I know we need QB bad but, 5 picks in top 100 we could bolster both lines in a major way in 22, Another KJ hamler day 3

You want a KJ Hamler that works?

Every resource and the highest priority on this team is fixing the Oline. You could get better out of Lock or Bridgewater with a good Oline. Pass protect should come with a stadium Ole sound system.

feels like the trenches need to be address in 2022
Oline and Dline please
I like the NT Davis kid out of Georgia or the kid from Texas A&M for DL help.
Last sunday with the Raiders running the ball right down our throats showed we need a talent upgrade on the DL.
