And that’s what it’s all about. He’s a carnival act. People see a play maker who is fat and a center and it amazes them. My playoff comment was all about emphasizing his dog shit defense. I’ll eat my crow when you see a team that comes into a series with a game plan that says we’re going to exploit the defense of Joel Embiid.
Dog shit? Meh. Average? I think we can all agree on that, problem is he helps his team in so many different ways. If he was also the best defender, he would win 10 MVP's in a row. What is amazing is this "fat, slow center" does everything on the court better than Embiid except play defense. Not many guys at his size and with his athleticism can play very good defense.

Best defender? He would never be a threat to be the best defender. How about just not the weak link that gets targeted in every action of a playoff series? Jokic passes better than Embiid. That’s it.

I disagree. Look at the list, it's not about who has the best players or teams.

It isn’t.

But Golden State is in the tail end of a dynasty.

That absolutely props their value a good deal.

I'm not saying it's nothing but again, the list of franchise values doesn't correlate very closely with big name players.

The Chase Center alone is worth around $2.5-3 billion of that number.

Agreed.

It is unlikely to materialize AND also probably not what helps the team most.

That is what got you in this mess to begin with. Picking a big name over fit.

Lakers don’t need another name. They need high quality role players who can contribute on both ends.

Saw an interesting trade suggestion for the Lakers...Alec Burks as a "discount Buddy Hield". Don't know if he plays defense...but he can shoot.

That’s a huge differentiator

However maybe they don’t see the stadium in the deal and just become landlords if they sold

I’ve seen it in regular business acquisitions before
