Saw an interesting trade suggestion for the Lakers...Alec Burks as a "discount Buddy Hield". Don't know if he plays defense...but he can shoot.
Good call.

At 31, he might be had for Bev and a few 2nd rounders. And his team option next season is a little over 10 mill.

just half way through his contract.

I said it the day they signed him it was a mistake. Old, small, losing athleticism.
You also said Riles was losing his fastball.

The Heat added Butler and made the Finals after you said that. LOL.

That’s a huge differentiator

However maybe they don’t see the stadium in the deal and just become landlords if they sold

I’ve seen it in regular business acquisitions before
It's all hypothetical because they aren't selling any time soon but they are planning on building a multimedia empire similar to the entity that owns the Knicks (Dolan is the controlling interest but not sole owner). But the Chase Center was built by these guys from their own pocket and it's definitely part of the franchise.

As bad as things have been? The Lakers are just 1.5 games out of the 6 seed and just 3 games out of the 5 seed.

That's because the West is pretty mediocre this year

On the flip side, the Lakers winning streak was as long as the Clippers losing streak, yet the Lakers are still under .500 and out f the playin.

Your team has a prime opportunity to gain major ground.

But, your management is either too cheap, or too stupid to capitalize on it by making a trade.

Now Steph is back.

Now Kawhi is back.

….and in case you haven’t noticed, your conference record is not great.

You need to start picking off the teams ahead of you.

The Kings were a good start.

Only if they make a move to improve the team. Some of the teams that are underperforming are likely to get their shit together and start winning at a greater clip.
It doesn’t even need to be radical.

Just maybe a shooter with some size.

The guy in Detroit fits the bill.

But, I get that the Lakers are hesitant to part with the draft capital.

I don’t agree with it.

But, I can see where they are coming from.

The West is kinda mediocre right now.

Clippers, Kings, Dubs, Dallas, Blazers are all vulnerable.

Would not take a huge move for the Lakers to leap them all.
