You're trying to discredit Phil for not doing what no one else would do if given that choice. That is the flaw in your logic.
Phil coached in 2 NBA cities.
He started in Chicago when people legitimately thought MJ would never win a ring because he was selfish.
Phil helped change that narrative.
He left when everyone was ready to move on. The player core, front office, everyone.
Then he took the best job available (as anyone would do) and he delivered in a big way.
