Was just about to post this. He looked like garbage. But then they flashed his stats from Korea, what heck was impressive about that stat line that Jerry made it sound like he was dominant not above average.
Idk but if he only has two pitches he aint gonna cut it. For all the talk about Kelenic, Gilbert is the one that I think actually should be up if things continue because I'd much rather see him over Flexon

I just had never seen the dude so just heard all the talk of how he was so dominant in the Korean league. I know he could be working on stuff and you can’t take spring stats at face value but literally nothing about that outing said starter. But ya, Gilbert the few times he has been on tv or at Tacoma last year at least showed signs of high end up potential. Much rather see Gilbert be in the rotation since they are going 6 man.

Justice Sheffield looked dominant the other day. The changeup was looking really good. Hopefully he starts to emerge as a top end starter this year.

Maybe they were just curious on what Flexen could probably bring to the table but realistically things change and I think it is expected to see Logan Gilbert come up and pitch for at least half a season. The odds that all 6 pitchers pan out without injury or bad production over the course of 162 games is 0%

Justin Dunn had a very up and down outing yesterday, dominating for two innings then losing it in the 3rd inning. I didnt get to see any of it but hopefully its not a sign of him being more of a reliever type. I do think there is something with him that I dont want to give up on yet tho

He said after the game he reverted back mentally to 2019 in the 3rd inning and just fell off the map. He over thinks things is what I am gathering and gets into his own head. Maybe they can bring back that doctor lady they had a few years back to help...

I hate this dumbass excuse. No matter if they pitch him more innings than any other pitcher in spring training they are going to shut him down in September. I have never understood the philosophy of limiting innings the way the new school guys do. Not saying throw 200 innings like back in the day, but they already want a 6 man rotation and now want to limit even more innings? Injuries happen regardless of innings pitched or how fragile they are treated. I just think if they are going to act all dumb like this then they should work more on nutrition and conditioning over innings. And from a business perspective, how does it make sense to limit his innings when he is dirt cheap as opposed to in 4 years when he is making (hopefully) 3-4 times as much right now.

I am with you. Modern baseball. You coddle him for 3 to 4 years, he plays 2 years for you, then he walks. So tell me again why you coddled him for his next team? For me it is like when they limit as studs base stealing because it wears him down. Wears him down for who? He is usually on to his next team by the time you have to worry abut him getting tired legs.

Kind of the same excuse players use to get out of the home run derby. I love Trout and truly think he deserves to be in the GOAT convo but that excuse is lame. One day of BP on nationalized television isn’t going to kill your swing for the 2nd half of the season.
