Not sure if it is the same quote, but a few days back they said they were going to look for a waiver OF to add to opening day instead of going with one of the young guys. That had nothing to do with Lewis though. It was about LF option. There was a quote Divish put up on Twitter that Dipoto said they are going to look outside the organization if Lewis isn’t able to make start opening day. I have no idea on the rationale of wasting money on a free agent at this point in the game if Lewis isn’t banged up enough to keep him out significant time.
Yeah I don’t know the date. Divish put the quote you cited up then a bunch of people commented about Kelenic then he put that quote up. The comments were actually comical in a way.Not sure if it is the same quote, but a few days back they said they were going to look for a waiver OF to add to opening day instead of going with one of the young guys. Good for him. Nice when a young guy who wasn’t supposed to make it, earns it
This one I’m a little nervous about. He’s got the tools but just not sure he’s ready. Fastball command is spotty and he needs to progress his 3rd pitch more
i feel the mariners have 6 good out field guys at this point
Since I’m a Mariners fan, I’d be lying if this wasn’t a concern for me. There’s a chance that knee could be a constant problem
the thing is.... the mariners think the same thing....probI think Moore could ultimately be a solid utility player and would prefer he doesnt get exposed playing everyday. Long i have no idea if he can be anything based on what I saw last year.
agreed...Since I’m a Mariners fan, I’d be lying if this wasn’t a concern for me. There’s a chance that knee could be a constant problem
Did you really not think he was going to make it though? When the whole Kelenic stuff was going down Jerry and Scott both were talking about Trammell like he was the best player in camp. But he needed to make the team to see what he can do for the club because they have to see from him if Kelenic or JRod are tradable for an ace.Good for him. Nice when a young guy who wasn’t supposed to make it, earns it
I think he was the better of the two choices based on him being RH versus anything else. I agree he needs to both find a 3rd pitch and also get out of his own head the second time through the lineup. With his arm this year, he needs only to locate his pitches and not worry about out guessing the hitters. I know he is buddies with Pedro which is great, but maybe a talk or two with Greg Maddux would help his mental side. This one I’m a little nervous about. He’s got the tools but just not sure he’s ready. Fastball command is spotty and he needs to progress his 3rd pitch more
