Not a former Giant but this transaction is Giant related. Hunter Bishop's older brother, Braden, just got dfa'd by the Mariners to make room for Jared Kelenic. Braden never really got much of a chance to play these last 3 years at the big league level, but, in the Mariners' defense, he didn't really show much in the minor leagues either (except for a month in AA in 2017 and a month and a half in AAA in 2019).

Albert Pujols signed with the Dodgers. What are the odds he is still on the team a month from now?

I just assumed he retired. Good for him.

Johneshwy was one of my favorites in the Giants' farm system. He had a cannon for an arm, he was a decent fielder with a lot of range, and he was fast on the bases. Alas, his SB% wasn't that good, and the many just could not hit (lifetime about a .250 hitter). Wish him well.

I didn't know he was still playing either, until today. He is 8 for 8 in the young minor league season in stolen base attempts, so he's going well in that area. His OPS was around .710, though. It will be fun to see how long he hangs around with the Mets. Alas, I don't think it will be long.

He's only 26, but seems like he's been around a long time. Maybe the Giants signed him as a 5th grader?
