Real talk, if it's only a 10-12 team league it's definitely a risk. If this modified changeup is real and becomes his put-away pitch (as it has been this spring), then he'll be solid for you. If it's not, he doesn't really have a true swing and miss pitch so for fantasy probably won't be very useful.

12 team league. I drafted him in the 21st round (23 total rounds). Probably still a reach, but I was running out of ideas towards the end of the draft. I always like having a player or two from my favorite team when I play a fantasy sport, and someone picked Yaz right before when I was going to pick him.

Worth a shot. 21st round with 12 teams, you're probably running out of decent pitchers at that point anyway. He's probably among the top 150 pitchers out there and has upside.

I don't think that is what he's saying. Webb lasted until the 21st round. In the drafts, I've been in, Yaz typically gets picked up around the 12th round.

Yaz got taken in the 6th round in my league. I was mistaken. I thought he got picked a little later than that. I was planning on picking him in the 10th round. I'm glad I got Webb in the 21st round, though. I am kicking myself right now because I didn't grab Posey, who was drafted in the 23rd round. Realmuto is my only catcher, and he's good, but I need a backup for the days that Realmuto doesn't play.

I also should've drafted Syndergaard as an injury stash, but someone beat me to him. I did get Severino in the 22nd round to be an injury stash.

I'm projected to finish last, so my team probably stinks. I did draft a lot of upside guys, so I'm hoping some of them come through.

Joey Bart didn't get drafted in my fantasy league. When do you think he'll get called up?

It'll take a long-term Posey injury, I think. Even a short-term injury to Posey or Casalli, they'll turn to Tromp first.

Bart is probably 4th on the depth chart at this point. Due to the covid protocols, guys on the taxi squad aren't going to get any consistent PT, so the Giants are going with Tromp on the taxi squad instead of Bart to allow Bart to get consistent reps. Wherever Bart is, they'll want him to play a lot. Having him on the taxi squad, or as the backup, won't be very helpful.

I don't know for sure, but Farhan Zaidi was on KNBR a couple hours ago and they did ask about the taxi squad. Zaidi seemed to indicate it will be a season long struggle to keep guys on the taxi squad fresh. So I seems to think that means it will be a long term thing. Certainly this first month it will be a big challenge.

Umpires in Bauer’s last start collected multiple balls he threw during the game. They had visible markings and were sticky, sources say.
