Dodgers are 2016 World Series favorites

The Los Angeles Dodgers head into what could be an active offseason as the favorites to win next year's World Series.

The Dodgers are 8-1 at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, followed by the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets,Toronto Blue Jays and Washington Nationals, who are all 10-1.

Don Mattingly stepped down as manager of the Dodgers on Oct. 22 after Los Angeles was eliminated from the postseason by the Mets in the National League Division Series. The Dodgers' co-ace starter Zack Greinke is expected to opt out of his contract and fetch big money as a free agent.

The newly-crowned World Series champion Kansas City Royals are 18-1 and facing a critical offseason. Starting pitcher Johnny Cueto and second baseman Ben Zobrist are free agents, and left fielder Alex Gordonhas a player option. The Houston Astros (12-1), Pittsburgh Pirates (12-1) and New York Yankees (16-1) are among the teams with better odds than the Royals, who have won the past two American League pennants.

The Boston Red Sox, like the Royals, are 18-1.

The defending National League champion Mets also have some big decisions looming. Slugger Yoenis Cespedes is a free agent, and postseason star Daniel Murphy could depart.

The Nationals, who began the 2015 season as the World Series favorites, could see significant turnover, withJordan Zimmermann, Ian Desmondand Denard Span bound for free agency.

Toronto starter David Price is another free agent who could impact the World Series odds over the next five months.

The Philadelphia Phillies, who won an MLB-low 63 games this year, are the biggest long shots on the board. The Phillies are listed at 300-1.

Two risky bettors have already backed the Phillies, according to Westgate assistant manager Ed Salmons.

It's an even-numbered year. Take the Giants.

nah.....like last year's runner up winning it this year...I'm going with this year's runner up winning it next year.

*btw: it will also be the 30th anniversary since their last WS title.
So why the hell not?

YGB!!!

Um, even year....20:1 for the Giants? More like 1:20. It's proven to be correct, like science. The question is who will LOSE to the Giants in the World Series this year?

Marlins-Dodgers cage fight to the death. Tables, ladders, chairs, too.
Marlins have a secret weapon:

This thing is actually just cover for Jeffrey Loria's nuclear missile. He's just itchin to turn Chavez Ravine into Chavez Crater.
