Darnold: 38 Starts, 59.8 Completion %, 45TD(3.7 TD%), 39INT(3.2INT%), 213.1Y/G, 78.6 RatingAnd teams are tripping over each other to get Darnold. It makes a lot of sense.
Tua can throw deep he just didn't have a legit deep threat last year. Things are about the change and I don't see watson being part of the show. Not Tuas strength but an appealing move if they wanna win the Watson derby
The Chiefs did okay replacing their OL and the Raiders have a plan. The AFC West minus the Broncos have just decided OL do not matter. Chiefs getting rid of 60% of their starters, Raiders looking like they are hitting the reset button, and well Chargers were bad even before this decision and only see it getting worse.
Run it back with Ben!!!!

Who are you taking, @DirtDirtDirt ?
I guess that’s the prevailing wisdom out there, but I disagree. I’d prefer to take the guy who has been pretty good and hope to develop him further over the young guy that just sucks. Age is just about the only thing Darnold has going for him. I’m not saying Trubisky is anything special, btw. I’m saying Darnold is absolutely terrible and any team that hands the reins over to him will quickly regret it.Darnald. I’ve seen enough of Trubinsky to have a good feel for what his ceiling is. Stable coaching situation, a true #1 WR, and elite level defense
Darnald at 23 has experienced the exact opposite of all that in his short career, and I think that’s what potential trade partners are seeing and why noone wanted Trubinsky, other than to back up one of the best young QBs in the game
I here ya but “just sucks” is how most people view Trubinsky who was set up farrrr better to be successful than DarnaldI guess that’s the prevailing wisdom out there, but I disagree. Steelers sign Juju for another year at $8M. Supposedly took less dough with offers from the Chiefs & Ravens on the table.
That’s fair. Let’s reconvene on this one after “Diamond Darnold” has a 2nd chance...and fails again. He can’t bathe long enough to wash off that Jets Stink.I here ya but “just sucks” is how most people view Trubinsky who was set up farrrr better to be successful than Darnald
Yea its a curious move. Refusing BAL isn't bad, but refusing the Chiefs? Not sure why he would do that. All along he wanted to stay. And if the contracts are comparable then I guess I get it. He's still only 24 years old and will hit the open market again next year when the salary cap gets back up.Damn, both legit SB contending teams he could have landed on
Maybe he thought he wouldn't get as many looks as he does with Pitt? Maholms locks on Kelce, Hill and the RBs out of the backfield vs Big Ben being familiar would get more looks and more chances to make plays and have a better pay day next year.Yea its a curious move. Still probably could have built himself a better asking price next year had he gone to KC for 1 year.
Read somewhere that the KC offer was just hours before he signed with PIT. It was a 2-horse race between PIT & BAL for the entirety of his FA week. BAL offered $9M with an additional $3.5M in incentives.Maybe he thought he wouldn't get as many looks as he does with Pitt? With the cap going up next season and tie that in with a productive year, yes I agree he can make that up next year.Read somewhere that the KC offer was just hours before he signed with PIT. Juju likely believes he can make up for that next offseason.
This would almost certainly be my guess. Chiefs are looking for a 3rd option and Juju might be seeking 1st option money long-term.Maybe he thought he wouldn't get as many looks as he does with Pitt? With the cap spike next year it does make sense to go back to a familiar system to maximize his chance at a bigger payday. This would almost certainly be my guess. Chiefs are looking for a 3rd option and Juju might be seeking 1st option money long-term.
It does. I do think he is basically the ideal Baltimore Ravens WR target. The fact that Baltimore didn't get him is a huge win for Pittsburgh. With the cap spike next year it does make sense to go back to a familiar system to maximize his chance at a bigger payday.
Agreed, big win for Pitt and if Balt wants him next year it'll cost them.It does. I do think he is basically the ideal Baltimore Ravens WR target. The fact that Baltimore didn't get him is a huge win for Pittsburgh.
